Canon's debut in the full-frame mirrorless arena is an expensive pro tool with the widest range of photo and video capabilities. The camera features a 30MP full-frame image sensor with Dual Pixel technology for fast, quiet and smooth focus. There are a record number of focus points in the assets of the model — 5655 pcs. Notably, they are sensitive in low light down to -6 EV. The sensitivity range of the camera's matrix is measured from 100 to 40,000 ISO in standard mode, expandable to ISO 50-102400.
The model allows you to conduct burst photography at up to 8 fps, recording 14-bit RAW files. Video shooting on the Canon EOS R kit 24-105 is carried out in resolution up to 4K (3840x2160 pixels) with a frame rate of 30 fps. It also provides the ability to record clips in 4:2:2 10-bit to an external recorder. For sighting in the process of working with the camera, an electronic viewfinder or a touch screen that rotates in all axes is used. But the matrix stabilization of the mirrorless was “not brought up”, as well as the second slot for a memory card. The model uses the RF-mount. This camera package provides equipment out of the box with a kit lens with a universal set of focal lengths of 24-105 mm and a constant aperture throughout the entire f/4 zoom range.

It offers confident performance in low light and delivers decent image quality at low ISO. The camera features a comfortable electronic viewfinder and a swiveling touchscreen, making it user-friendly. Its build quality is praised, fitting well in hand, and it works seamlessly with Canon DSLR lenses through an adapter. However, the controls are unconventional, requiring some adjustment, and the JPEG quality is not as refined, necessitating RAW conversion for better results. The lack of in-body stabilization can lead to micro blur when shooting handheld. Despite these drawbacks, the camera is appreciated for its vibrant and rich video colors and is considered a great model for photography, though not ideal for sports. The native lenses are expensive, but the camera's overall performance and features make it a compelling choice for many photographers.

One of the important advantages for me in the Canon EOS R is, of course, the excellent autofocus, touchscreen and swivel screen, and the large and convenient electronic viewfinder, through which you instantly see the preview image. I was also impressed by the "AF Drag" function. Since this camera is "Mirrorless", it means that some SLR issues are now a thing of the past: back and front focus. Autofocus quickly locks onto the eyes and won’t let go until you take the photo. The video image is very pleasant. The colors are vibrant and rich. Attractive shutter sound, comfortable EVF, ideal focus in video, practical grip, cool pleasant materials, it’s wonderfully done that different keys are recessed differently, which negates unexpected presses, for example, the info or basket key. Personally, I also like the introduction and disabling of the camera, for me it is preferable in this way (in this way, rather than the unexpected activation of the UPC in the bag, which happened to me with a nikon.
