The main feature of the new model is the full-frame 45-megapixel sensor, designed with multi-layer back-illuminated technology. This engineering solution significantly speeds up data reading and reduces the rolling shutter effect. Alongside the DIGIC X processor, the camera has an additional DIGIC Accelerator coprocessor, which provides increased computational power used for AI-based operations, including autofocus with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system.

Video Potential

The camera supports continuous RAW shooting with autofocus at a speed of up to 30 frames per second. The memory buffer can hold up to 150 images. Recording is possible on SD UHS-II and CFExpress type B cards. The camera offers a dynamic range of up to 16 stops and excels in video shooting, supporting recording in resolutions up to 8K at 30 or 60 frames per second depending on the chosen codec. The maximum bitrate can reach 2600 MB/s. The Canon EOS R5 Mark II will become a powerful tool for professional video shooting.

Eye-Controlled Autofocus

The model is equipped with a high-resolution viewfinder and the ability to track eye movement for focus point selection—now, focusing can be achieved with just a glance. The camera is also capable of simultaneously recording video and taking photos in JPEG format. The effective image stabilization system deserves special attention: up to 8.5 stops in the center of the frame and up to 7.5 stops at the edges, depending on the lens.
