good model, I liked it
22 March 2014
The perfect camera for home use, no one claims it's for professional filming, but for home use, recreation, and walks, it's very high-quality and convenient. It's easy to pull out a small device from your pocket, quickly take a photo, and just as easily put it back. Some people write that the autofocus is weak; I read this on other sites, but in reality, it's not true. It's normal, and for a regular person, it will be more than enough.
The most important thing is the compact size. It annoys me when you go somewhere to relax and have to carry around a big, bulky device, but here you have an acceptable weight of 300 grams and a small size that doesn't bother with its dimensions. Plus, it's all made in a very convenient shape with no protrusions or sharp edges, so even if it hangs around your neck and bumps against your body, nothing will happen. You can even easily toss it in your pocket without any discomfort. It has everything that DSLRs have but for more money, bigger sizes, and so on. But the most important thing is that this mirrorless camera doesn't lose photo quality. If you've ever used Canon, you'll have no problems with the controls, as the menu is almost the same as on all products of this brand. The ability to attach any other lenses is just a fantastic feature. The screen is simple and not too prone to smudges. There are no scratches at all, which is even better than I could have imagined, very well-protected, and everything is visible in the light if you're shooting not through the lens. It doesn't overexpose at all. Good color scheme selection for the body, allowing everyone to choose their preferred color.
You cannot forcefully turn off the screen, and this is necessary to save battery life, which will definitely save about 20% of the battery. The weak stabilizer sometimes blurs the frames. The battery capacity is low, it lasts only for 400 shots, which is very little; my old Samsung lasted for at least 600. The frame rate is slow, or whatever it's called, it doesn't take photos quickly. Not all programs are very convenient, there is a lot of unnecessary clutter that clutters the menu and really provides no benefit.
A quite excellent digital camera
17 January 2015
I had long dreamed of buying a digital camera and just a little over a month ago, I purchased it. My brother recommended this particular model to me, as he has the exact same camera. Having been passionate about amateur photography for about a year, I used to take photos with my smartphone before. It was decent, but of course, the camera was weak, so I became eager to buy a more serious device. During all this time using the camera, I have only had positive emotions; the photo quality is simply excellent, and the camera is convenient. Due to its lightweight, it's quite compact and doesn't cause any inconvenience. The camera is just perfect for photography enthusiasts. For example, I often go out with my family to enjoy nature, and in the evening, it's ideal for photographing nature and loved ones. Of course, it's not suitable for professional shooting, but it's perfect for personal use; I'd say it has a quite high amateur level. Overall, I am fully satisfied with my purchase. It's probably hard to find a better camera than this one. The only slight disappointment was that the price was a bit too high when I bought it. If I had purchased it a little earlier, it would have been perfect. But in terms of technology, there's nothing to complain about, so I recommend all photography enthusiasts choose the Canon EOS M model.
Stylish design, lightweight and powerful processor.
The only thing missing is the Wi-Fi module, and the price is a bit high.

Overall, the EOS M is an excellent camera for those who do not want to buy a DSLR.
2 January 2015
The camera, after a month of use, left a very good impression. The device can even shoot photos in RAW format. Videos are recorded in full format Full HD 1080p (although 720p is also available). The controls are convenient. A small drawback is that shooting modes are switched only through the menu. There is no dedicated physical selector at all. It may be unusual for those used to DSLRs. The shooting speed of the EOS M is at quite a high level. In full resolution, the shooting rate is about 3-4 frames per second. I liked the HDR mode. It also has its own mode for achieving a blurred background. The camera can confidently use Canon DSLR lenses, but an adapter is needed. The autofocus function is retained. There aren't many EOS M system lenses, but the main primes and zooms are available.
- The camera is very stylish, has a small size, lightweight and fits comfortably in hand. The quality of materials and assembly is high. According to some information, a strong magnesium-based alloy is used in its construction.
- There is a large sensor, as in an SLR camera, and a powerful graphics processor that quickly handles any tasks.
- You can connect external flashes + a branded one is included.
- The built-in infrared receiver allows remote control of the camera.
- There is an HDMI port.
- There is a large touchscreen for operation.
- Shooting modes with manual exposure settings are available.
- Fairly high cost.
- There is no own viewfinder like on a DSLR camera, so you can only use the screen.
- There is no Wi-Fi module, which means you can't upload your photos and videos directly to the Internet.
- There is also no GPS module and built-in compass.
- Currently, the range of lenses with the EF-M mount is small, and you will need an adapter to use Canon DSLR lenses.

Canon EOS M features:

Technical equipment and functionality of the camera:

Canon EOS M received an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor, whose size is 22.3x14.9 mm, a DIGIC V processor and a new Canon EF-M mount. The camera is controlled via a 3-inch Clear View II display with a resolution of 1.04 megapixels. The display is not rotary, fixed. The display sensor is made using capacitive technology and has 31 focus points. Just click on the desired area, and autofocus will work on a given point.

Flash

The camera does not have a built-in flash. But there is a hot shoe. Supplied with 90EX external flash with guide number 9.

Control

Management is carried out both through the screen and through the buttons on the case, of which there are seven pieces, except for the joystick. On the screen itself, there are four touch buttons that are located on the sides. Each of them performs its own function:
  • Changing the exposure mode
  • Calling up the OSD
  • Enable or disable touch focus or touch shutter
  • Zoom on screen
Change and adjustment of these parameters is carried out through the screen. Just click on the desired parameter and either select the desired characteristic, or drag the slider to it.

Shooting modes

In addition to standard scene programs, HDR shooting, Video Snapshot shooting, software art filters, and automatic scene recognition are available in the camera. Of all the available shooting modes, there are a few really interesting and useful ones. For example, creative auto mode, which with the help of two sliders allows you to adjust settings such as aperture and shutter speed. As well as the Video Snapshot shooting mode, where it is possible to "stitch" short video clips into a single whole. This will allow you to make small filmstrips directly through the camera.
