A high-performance and reliable internal hard drive with a 3.5" form factor from the 2019 Seagate IronWolf family of server HDD drives. This line includes 12 models with capacities from 1 GB to 16 TB, the design and firmware of which are optimized for solving problems of long-term storage of information in NAS -arrays. Positioned as a mid-price product intended for use in server/office multi-disk storage (up to 8 disks) connected to a local network using high-speed network cable or wireless connections.
This model is tested and approved by QNAP. factor and SATA3 connection interface, the internal hard drive Seagate IronWolf ST6000VN001 can be used as an additional high-capacity HDD drive in a universal home PC, gaming or multimedia system. It has a platter rotation speed of 5400 rpm, not recommended for use as a system drive, but. will cope perfectly with storing large volumes of files for work projects, backup copies, video, photo and audio content of the highest quality. This model uses classical magnetic recording (CMR) technology, which allows for high sequential read/write speeds (up to 190 MB/s).

It's too early to talk about reliability, time will tell. I'll update the review if so. -Good speeds, around 170MB/s for read/write. The wd Red 2TB has worse performance. -Doesn't heat up. In 33-degree heat, the drive maintains 43 degrees while working. -Quiet, no vibrations. I fell for a lot of reviews about silence and bought a 2 GB model, in fact the unit turned out to be very noisy, well, for me personally. In silence, you can hear buzzing, dull humming, chirping, etc. from 2 meters away. It also constantly turns on and off, and this is especially noisy. I had to buy a soundproof box, but even in it the operation of the unit is a little audible. Apparently people have a problem with their hearing, or are these marketer provocateurs writing about silence. Possibly a reliable unit according to reviews... 1. Packaging. It's like a candy wrapper; many products in stores are packaged much better. 2. Noise, probably all the hard drives make noise..., haven't changed them in 11 years. |

P.S. I'm actually surprised why the 2 Tb versions are more expensive; basically, it's the same thing with less capacity.
