Model overview based on user reviews
The Sigma 105mm f/2.8 OS AF HSM EX DG Macro lens is highly praised for its excellent price-to-quality ratio and effective image stabilization, making it a great choice for macro photography. Users appreciate its super sharpness and find it performs exceptionally well on various camera models, such as the Nikon D610, D800, and D4. Although it may not be the fastest in autofocus, it is not primarily designed as a portrait lens, and users suggest alternatives for speed and portraiture. Overall, the lens is considered a worthwhile investment, offering great performance for the price, and is especially recommended for those looking for a reliable macro lens with a stabilizer.
Pros
Cons
Glass is great! I use it on a Nikon d610, I thought about taking the original one, but after reading reviews that the original, non-Japanese one is LAMELY for all owners, and the Japanese ones are only used and cost like new, not Japanese. I decided to take it for a try and didn’t regret it at all! The stub works VERY well and really helps when shooting macro handheld; I won’t say that it drains the battery a lot! I was very surprised that I never found a review of this glass in Russian, although they speak very positively about it on foreign language sites! I have a Sigma 35 1.4 and I’m very pleased with it (that is, I like the new Sigma lenses). Price, Quality, Stabilizer NO |
Sharp, super stabilizer and for little money ))) bought at Digitalvideo - great guys!! worth buying!! super sharp, beautiful, definitely not a portrait lens, but on my D800 and D4 it looks sharper than the native one)))
The stabilizer works great and doesn't wobble in the body unlike the Nikon one)) SHARP, very sharp!! haven't found it yet, probably not very fast autofocus - just as expected)) but for speeds and portrait shoots there's the 85/1.4 ))) use Sigma 105mm f/2.8 OS AF HSM EX DG Macro month or more i recommend it should buy |
