great model, love it

It makes sense to take this series. But above 1070, not so much. They already have close-cooling there and you can’t really push it. And for 1066 the cooling is like native.
Temperatures out of the box at their peak are 60-65 (my case is still poorly ventilated and it’s hot in the room). Acceleration peaks at 70.
Nothing, except for the heaviness, but this is rather nit-picking and not out of habit after the weightless 750 with a block of aluminium and 1 screw.

junk for 380 bucks

With this card during World War II in Germany, you could torture people. The whistling of the chokes under load is so annoying that it's impossible to sit quietly next to the computer. MSI support dismisses it, saying it's not under warranty. I'm tired of arguing with them. They read the inquiries but don't respond and close them without providing an answer. Calls don't help either. They tell you to go to the service center, and the service center bounces you back. They say, turn on vertical synchronization... Vertical synchronization, Carl!!!! Or change the power supply. I changed four of them, Carl, four!!!!! I wrote to the main Korean office—they don't respond, either they don't care, or they don't know English, just soldering irons and Chinese chokes. I bought a piece of junk that gives me a headache for 380 bucks. It's a joke. Shame on Nvidia. Shame on MSI! I'm starting a campaign against MSI. Soon everyone will hear about it. We must get quality parts for such crazy money!

Need more gigabytes

New games of 2017-2018 finally proved that the 3-gig version of the GeForce GTX 1060 is no longer enough for comfortable gameplay. Without exception, all big-low-cost new games require 4 GB of VRAM even for low graphics settings, and for medium or high graphics settings, you need 6+ GB. Fortunately, the GTX 1060 has an older modification with 6 GB of fast GDDR5 memory and 1280 Pascal architecture microcores (the 3-gigabyte version has only 1152 microcores).

Not a poor relative

MSI GTX 1060 Armor 6G OCV1 is the younger sister of MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G. They differ only in design (black and white versus black and red) and frequency (in the second it is slightly higher). However, the difference in megahertz is easy to compensate and even surpass by manual overclocking using the proprietary MSI Afterburner application. The programme is so convenient that it is often used to overclock video cards even from other manufacturers that have their own utilities similar in functionality.

Magic of reincarnation

And if you manually select the frequency formula for the graphics core and video memory, you can tritely flash the MSI GTX 1060 Armor 6G OCV1 with a ready-made BIOS file from a higher-frequency Gaming X. Rumor has it that after that, Armor even slightly increases the potential for manual overclocking, which initially, apparently , limited by software. As a result, we safely recommend the MSI GTX 1060 Armor 6G OCV1 paired with an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor.
