A powerful ultrazoom with an inch sensor, equipped with a 24-600 mm zoom lens with a fast aperture of f/2.8-4. An optical stub is built right into the lens, designed to compensate for up to 4.5 stops of exposure, which helps in obtaining clear, blur-free images at the telephoto zoom position. The main emphasis in the Sony RX10 IV is on speed — the camera focuses with lightning speed (325-point autofocus system catches the object in just 0.03 s), “shoots” a series of shots at a speed of 24 fps, and up to 249 JPEGs are placed in its buffer. The credit for this lies with the Bionz X image processor, borrowed from Sony's flagship top-level mirrorless A9. Separate "buns" are available for videographers who will like the support for recording 4K videos in S-Gamut / S-Log2 / S-Log3 modes.... And when the resolution is reduced to 1244 × 420 pixels, the camera shoots video at a speed of 1000 fps. Naturally, the model has a viewfinder, a touch screen and a hot shoe. In addition, the body of the ultrazoom has dust and water protection.

I was looking for a tool - I found a treasure

She's good at everything. Sometimes I don’t understand how to shoot video now, on 5dm3 AND 80d. I just don't want to pick them up anymore. I tested the RX10 iv as a joke at a master class in Yekaterinburg. Photoshoot with artificial light - like a magazine. I shoot in a dark auditorium - great. We run outside and shoot the model in the rain - great. I don't understand what the catch is. I read the description - inch matrix. Interesting. As a result, I took it for a test shoot of a wedding in a church. Difficult lighting, many large windows, and deep shadows in the corners - the camera works perfectly. I sold the Kenon 24-105 and bought an rx10 iv.
+ Reliability/weather protection
+ Image quality photo. One-inch sensor works wonders
+ Epic video. Color profiles. 4K.
+ Speed and accuracy of focusing
+ Variability of zoom and stabilization
+ Cool viewfinder and display
- need more batteries

An excellent camera that lived up to expectations.
18 January 2018
I bought it as a second camera in the family, for my wife, I have a Sony A 99II. She mainly films children's events, holidays, competitions, and performances. Usually little lighting, moving action. Before this purchase of a Sony RX10 IV, she had a year of Sony 6500 (many focusing points, etc.) before which there was a Sony A7 (small, full frame, etc.), etc. As an ordinary consumer, I was dissatisfied with previous cameras, I did not change the optics for them if necessary, a flash was often required, there were not enough frames during continuous shooting, many frames were blurry and blurry, etc. With this camera, the number of bad frames that were blurry and blurry decreased greatly, but increased time to select frames from high-quality, highly moving frames captured in serial shooting mode. The choice of good pictures has become much wider, over a shorter period of time. This is how they shot footage in a water park, from a tripod, on the street, from afar, sharing a pool into which they went. Time-lapse footage detailing the fall into the water with splashes and drops of water was excellent, with good sharpness, although the speed of the subject was very high. And so in many ways. We were pleased with this purchase and our choice of the Sony RX10 IV.
Continuous shooting 24 fps, focal length 24 - 600 mm, touch focusing, built-in flash (up to 10 m), 315 focus points, optical image stabilization, Bionz X processor, Ultra HD (4K) shooting, etc.
No image stabilization with matrix shift (For such a focal lens, it would be good)
great model, love it

The camera attracted me with its versatility; in a fairly compact body, I got a sharp image with excellent color rendering. Fast autofocus and a wide range of focal lengths.
I took the camera with me on trips; it allows for the realization of any creative ideas.
The large sensor size provides excellent detail, good dynamic range, and high operational ISO.
The camera can charge and shoot simultaneously, which has helped me out many times.
Stabilization works well, making handheld shooting convenient.
The video camera records in 4K resolution, 30 fps.
Full control over the shooting process, manual settings, RAW.
I am happy with the purchase and recommend it to everyone.

A role model for the entire squad of ultras in the fourth generation, it has a set of "chips" that expose the camera in the light of a unique solution for shooting diverse scenes, whether it's a walk around the city, a sporting event or a wildlife photo hunt.

Universal lens

“At the helm” of the camera is a 20 MP back-illuminated inch matrix. But the main secret of the model's success is a zoom lens with a set of equivalent focal lengths of 24-600 mm and a high aperture, albeit slightly "floating" from the short to the long end (f / 2.4-4). It has an Optical SteadyShot stabilization system, which gives the photographer a headroom of 4.5 exposure stops. One of the disadvantages of the model is also associated with the lens — the lack of direct mechanical control of zoom and focus. The thing is that the rotation of the rings surrounding the lens only leads to the activation of the motors that move the lens groups, and is not transmitted directly to them.

Reporting qualities

The Sony RX10 IV has highly developed reporter qualities: the ultrazoom “shoots” a series of frames at a speed of up to 24 fps, and the camera buffer holds over 240 JPEG files in one go. With such data, you can safely take the camera with you to football or Formula 1 races — there are no impossible tasks for it. Complements the overall positive impression of the reaction speed of the camera nimble and tenacious 315-point autofocus system, which focuses at lightning speed (in 0.03 seconds, according to the Japanese manufacturer).

Out of competition

In terms of ergonomics, the ultrazoom remains generally out of competition — all the buttons and scroll wheels are in place, the screen of the model turned out to be swivel and touch, in addition, the photographer is provided with a service monochrome display on the top edge(in the best traditions of serious cameras).

For all occasions

With video, the Sony RX10 IV is also doing well — shooting videos in 4K resolution with recording S-Log2 and S-Log3 user profiles is a clear confirmation of this. All this is "packed" in a dust- and moisture-proof case. External accessories (such as a flash) are connected to the camera via the hot shoe. Of course, with such decoration, the ultrasound is not cheap, but there is simply no other such perfect option for all occasions.

Autofocus does not work in Slow motion mode, autofocus requires shooting mode 1920x1080 px 60 fps or 3840x2160 px 30 fps.
