The flagship smartphone emphasizes high productivity and outstanding main camera capabilities. The device's solid power reserve is ensured by the "iron" combination of the top-tier Snapdragon 888 processor, Adreno 660 graphics, and 8/128 GB of non-expandable memory. This powerful setup handles all tasks. The OnePlus 9 128GB's main camera block features a 48 MP lead image sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP auxiliary sensor for background blurring.
The device's rear camera records video in resolutions up to 8K at a frame rate of 30 fps. The smartphone captures selfies with a 16 MP front camera in an island screen hole. Moreover, the gadget's display is based on a Fluid AMOLED panel with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and HDR10+ support. An under-display fingerprint scanner is also included. The smartphone is powered by a 4500 mAh battery with 65W wired turbocharging and a 15W wireless energy replenishment technology. The communication features of the model are revealed by Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v 5.2, and an NFC chip.

My experience with OnePlus 9 for 3 years. In general, everything was fine, there were some problems with heating and summer in the shade, when watching a feed on Instagram and surfing the Internet, it warmed up noticeably, for sure more than 40C, well, this is rather a feature of the snapdragon 888 processor. In general, I told everyone that the purchase was successful and I myself considered However, yesterday it was covered with a copper basin, I just pick up the phone, and it turned off and does not turn on, and after the reboot it lived for 1 hour and now it is impossible even to enter the recovery mode. In short, it shows no signs of life. To clarify, I used the phone very carefully, never dropped it, never swam in water, in general there can be no external factors. And this is the company's flagship at the time with the best they could deliver. I've been watching OnePlus news from time to time and the more it goes on, the worse it gets, the company turns into a sub-brand of Oppo, the new OnePlus 12 has glue leaking from the camera and they call it the best the company can offer, eehhh. I hope that this is an isolated case that happened to me. OxygenOS (a very comfortable system, and especially on Android 14), a three-step switch (well, I used it constantly, before bed, after it and every day), there was almost no shim, fast charging (Apple and Samsung do not have this) because which simply stopped being afraid of forgetting to charge the phone 1. Phone heating - the main reason I removed heavy games from the phone, it heats up like crazy, sometimes in summer it heated up even from Instagram, Telegram, etc. 2. Plastic frame - feels cheap, at least the phone is lighter because of it, but I carried it in a case, so it's not that much of an issue. 3. It just died after 3 years without any warning. ![]() |
Switched to it from Google Pixel and it’s basically fine. The screen is the best on the market. The camera is excellent. The 50 MP ultra-wide is worth it. Top for the money. You just need to get the 256 version because there won’t be enough memory for photo enthusiasts. Screen, autonomy, charging 65 watts in the kit, camera, stereo sound, oxygen shell os ce vzagali okrema the theme is all laconic. Not detected. ![]() |
If we talk about the advantages: A screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The image on the screen is very clear and smooth, which is especially pleasant if you use your phone for a long time. In addition, the phone works very quickly, allowing you to switch between apps and launch them without delays. The operating system is very functional, convenient for performing various tasks. Among the disadvantages I noticed, the phone can heat up during heavy use. If you like playing games or using the phone for intensive tasks, you should be prepared for the phone to get warm, especially in summer. The battery doesn't last all day, but the phone charges very quickly, so one compensates for the other. Perhaps, if you don't use all the features like the 120 Hz screen and use the power-saving mode, you can stretch it longer. Another downside is the difference between the European and Chinese versions of the phone. I bought the Chinese version, which does not support wireless charging, which was a bit disappointing for me. A lot of memory High speed performance High performance 120 Hz display Fast charging Beautiful design 50 MP wide-angle camera (that's why I chose this 9 model and not another OnePlus from the 9 series). OnePlus operating system is simply amazing. The battery drains quickly (especially on mobile internet) Lack of wireless charging in the Chinese version ![]() |

Hasselblad Camera
OnePlus' 2021 flagship lineup is the first fruit of a collaboration between the manufacturer and Swedish photography equipment company Hasselblad. This is a premium brand in the camera market with a rich history, which is why OnePlus made a bet on the camera in the ninth generation of top smartphones. However it seems that in the first year of cooperation, Hasselblad did not participate much in the development, only calibrating natural light for realistic colours and natural skin tones. If you close your eyes to the brand logo, the OnePlus 9 camera has numerous nuances, apparently in order to emphasize the advantages of the older OnePlus 9 Pro model against their background. Three modules are available, including a 48MP main sensor, a 50MP wide-angle camera, and a secondary 2MP black and white lens. Unfortunately, there is no optical stabilization or a telephoto lens here — only the older brother got all this. Therefore, only the “width” deserves praise, but in general, the camera shoots well, but not as well as we would like, especially in light of the advertised partnership with Hasselblad.
Not without compromise
If you look at the smartphone in general, then a line of those same compromises that the manufacturer made, apparently, for the sake of reducing the cost and demonstrating the benefits of OnePlus 9 Pro, runs like a thick thread through the characteristics. First of all, the impression is spoiled by a plastic rather than a metal frame, although the design of the smartphone itself is quite nice. Fortunately, the back cover was not made of plastic and glass was chosen after all. Also, OnePlus should be scolded for the under-screen fingerprint scanner: it works quite quickly, but its location is as inconvenient as possible. The sensor was placed closer to the bottom frame, so every time you have to pull your finger to it, often holding the gadget with your second hand.
As for the display, it's excellent here. The 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED panel with 2400x1080 resolution and flat edges is the perfect solution for opponents of curved screens. But there was an ill-fated “but”: although the image refresh rate was increased to 120 Hz, it is not adaptive here, that is, there is only a standard 60 Hz scan or a 120 Hz mode to choose from.
Performance and battery life
The flagship receives another medal in the overall standings for battery life: the battery consists of two parts and has a total capacity of 4500 mAh. It supports 65W fast charging: just 15 minutes at the outlet will provide a whole day of battery life, and it takes 29 minutes to fully charge. In addition, this is the first non-Pro model in the family to receive wireless charging. However it is only available in versions for the US and European markets.
Responsible for performance is a win-win combination of the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, Adreno 660 graphics and 8 GB of RAM. It's not even worth saying that their power is enough for both everyday tasks and demanding games. The Cool Play liquid cooling system is designed to control the temperature, but sometimes it can not tame the hot temper of the Snapdragon 888 — this chip is known for its high heat, so OnePlus should not be blamed for this. Complementing the picture are the attributes inherent in many modern flagships: support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC (in the global version), stereo speakers, as well as the lack of a memory card slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
