Model overview based on user reviews
The Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikkor lens is praised for its high-speed performance and smooth bokeh, making it ideal for portrait photography. Users appreciate the excellent image quality and high sharpness, especially compared to its D series counterpart. However, some drawbacks include noticeable chromatic aberration from f/1.4 to f/5.6, which can be corrected with software like Lightroom, and diffraction occurring after f/8.0. The lens also has a relatively slow autofocus compared to other models and a plastic build that some find lacking in durability. Additionally, many users report issues with backfocus, particularly on certain camera models, which may require autofocus adjustments. Despite these concerns, the lens is considered a valuable choice for professional photography enthusiasts, offering good performance at a reasonable price.

overall, a decent lens! But it doesn't quite make it to 5 points!
Strengths are the lens speed and pleasant, smooth bokeh! The image quality is top-notch!
CA horrible from 1.4-5.6 (fixed by Lightroom 4.1 editor) After F8.0 diffraction occurs! On crop distortion is noticeable!

Quiet
Edge resolution is slightly better compared to the D series, but at f5.6 it is inferior across the entire field. Weak design, plastic everywhere including helicoids.

Just don't put it in conditions where the chromaticity is clearly visible.
The shape and number of aperture blades at this price. An excellent lens.
The chromaticity is large, but no one has seen fifty dollars without a chromatic one. Relatively slow focusing compared to 17-55 (2.8), 24-70 (2.8), 70-200 (2.8) vr II Disgusting lens hood, although it is durable; A top lens must have a shaped lens hood.
