Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core i5 Coffee Lake processors are praised for their excellent overclocking capabilities, with users achieving speeds up to 5 GHz and experiencing significant performance improvements in applications and games. Many users report smooth performance with no noticeable lags, even in demanding games like The Witcher 3 and GTA 5. However, some users have noted temperature fluctuations and the lack of integrated video drivers for certain Windows versions. While the processor is generally considered fast and reliable, there are occasional concerns about noise during gaming and potential overheating issues. Overall, it is recommended for those seeking a balance of performance and value, though some suggest considering newer models for better value.

I was thinking of getting a Ryzen, but I need single-threaded compilation speed and that's Intel.

Normally runs in air at a minimum of 5GHz (I overclocked it with a multiplier of 50 but the CPU voltage was 1.5 in auto overclock, didn't want to risk it). Set to 4.9GHz in a stress test on AIDA64 with a maximum of 91°C on a ZALMAN 10S Optima for 17 minutes without throttling. Adjusted to 4.8GHz (CPU voltage 1.456 at 4.8 but lower otherwise) with a max temperature in games of 78°C, overclocked Corsair RAM 8x2=16GB to 3100 from 2400 nominal. Simple Asus Prime z370-P motherboard, overall satisfied.

Overclocking with a simple multiplier, the increase from 6600k to 4.5GHz resulted in up to a 30% increase; compilation speed has significantly improved, and all applications have become more responsive.
sometimes the temperature on the cores jumps from 40-67 or the sensors are so inaccurate, or the monitoring system, there is no driver for integrated video on win7-8 and win10 32bit only on win10 64bit, if it were soldered like the 2500k it would be priceless

Good percentage

Excellent percentage,
Forget about friezes, as well as lags, I have a 1050 ti, so everything is fire, temperature is 20-40 max degrees with a deepcool gamaxx 200t cooler, idle temperature is 15 or less (I played wither 3, gta 5, resident evil 2 re and cs on it go everything is fine)
Did not notice

Take it, don't overpay for 8700k.

Quite fast. In CSGO on low internal graphics, 110-120 fps. Managed to overclock to 5 GHz on the MSI Z370 A-PRO, but didn't notice that the voltage reached 1.46. It heated up to 80 (didn't risk running the test in Cinebench, didn't install LinX before this. In the end, I decided not to push the hardware since 4.5 GHz is quite sufficient (in LinX at 15000 and 20 runs, it doesn't heat above 80 on the Xilence M403 cooler). I achieved the psychological threshold of 5 GHz, and now I won't push it further, or else it might start to degrade. Haven't encoded video yet - I'll add to the review later.
Fast. Can be overclocked to 5 GHz and above.
Nothing yet. Switched from a laptop, so the speed is satisfactory.
