High-performance 10- or 14-core processors for desktop systems from the Intel Core 13th generation family (Raptor Lake, 10 nm). Models in this line feature an LGA 1700 socket and are designed for installation in motherboards with 6XX and 7XX series chipsets. They are positioned by the manufacturer as mid-range models intended for use in entry-level multipurpose workstations, versatile home systems, gaming PCs, and affordable overclocking configurations.

As before, the key feature of the Raptor Lake architecture is the division of all available cores into two groups: powerful P-cores and energy-efficient E-cores, similar to mobile ARM processors. Specific cores are utilized depending on the current type of load: P-cores are better suited for gaming and "heavy tasks," while E-cores are for background processes. This architecture optimizes overall performance levels and reduces overall power consumption.

Depending on the specific modification, Core i5 Raptor Lake may include either 10 or 14 physical cores. In the first case, it consists of 6 P-cores + 4 E-cores. Performance cores are boosted up to 4.6 GHz and support multithreaded data processing, increasing the total number of threads to 16. The L3 cache size is 20 MB, and the maximum TDP can reach 154 W. Higher-level Core i5 chips have 6 P-cores + 8 E-cores, resulting in a total of 20 threads.

Their cache size is increased to 24 MB, and TDP has accordingly risen to 181 W. It is worth noting that for optimal use of the hybrid architecture, a motherboard supporting Thread Director technology and a modern tower cooler are required. The processors support 16 lanes of the PCI-E 5.0 system interface, providing incredible data transfer speeds to graphics cards, top NVMe SSDs, and network adapters. Another important feature is the ability to work with two types of RAM ― DDR4-3200 or DDR5-5600. The maximum supported RAM capacity is 128 GB.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core i5 Raptor Lake series, including models like the i5-13400 BOX and i5-13400F BOX, is highly recommended for gaming builds due to its impressive specifications such as 10 cores, 16 threads, and a 20MB Cache. Users have noted a significant improvement in performance, especially when upgrading from previous models like the 12400. The processor's architecture allows for a maximum clock speed of 4.6 GHz, making it a strong contender in its category. Additionally, it maintains a cool temperature, even under maximum load, with users reporting temperatures of up to 50 degrees when paired with appropriate cooling solutions. While the price might be slightly higher, the overall performance and efficiency make it a worthwhile investment.

I'm coring with this processor for a few days and what can I say. In a set with SVO 240, with a maximum engagement, it heats up to 50 degrees.
Cold, strong stone.
So far everything is good

High performance, which keeps it relevant, but there are more interesting options

This processor is still relevant! I bought it in the summer of '24, and it was a couple of thousand cheaper than its successor 14600k at the time, so I got it. In terms of performance, it's better than the Ryzen 7700.
Productivity
At 40% load under 240mm of water, the aisle heats up to 60-63 degrees, and in the summer to 70
