A fairly advanced gaming keyboard, positioned by the manufacturer in the upper price segment. This is a full-size model that connects to computer equipment via a USB interface with a 1.8 m cable, which is in a braid that protects it from bending and mechanical stress. The Skeleton case provides convenient dismantling of buttons in case of need to clean them from dust and dirt. A feature of the keyboard is the presence of a mini-Jack connector (4-pin 3.5 mm) for connecting audio devices.

Thus, you don’t have to bend down to the system unit — all the possibilities for activating sound devices are at the user’s fingertips. Volume control is also placed on separate buttons. The HP Pavilion Gaming Keyboard 800 has built-in memory that is used to programme commands and assign them to individual keys. There are also 4 additional buttons used to call up specific functions and individual applications. For ease of use, the gadget comes with a detachable wrist rest. The keyboard measures 448x203x39 mm (without stand), weighs 1.2 kg and is illuminated from the inside, which makes it possible to use it in the dark.

How to choose a gaming keyboardLet's look at the differences between the types of switches and additional equipment for gaming keyboards
Normal keyboard for a non-specialized manufacturer
6 June 2020
In real life, it looks more compact and brighter than in the store pictures. Despite the issues with the backlight shift and software, I like it. Typing is comfortable, and the backlight, although uniform, is of good quality. The switches are unclear, but most likely some kind of Chinese.
- The design is very balanced
- Quality of Russian letter backlighting
- Keys do not creak when pressed
- Cable channel at the cable exit point from the keyboard
- Headphone jack. (split into 2 3.5 jacks for mic and sound) - the set includes an adapter that combines them into one 3.5.
- Spacebar with side supports
- Wrist rest made of high-quality plastic without soft-touch - means it won't wear out
- Backlight is stored in the keyboard memory (for IMHO this is a plus)
- Various macros and additional control keys, but that no longer surprises anyone.
- Short left shift (even though it's long in the picture)
- Lack of drivers and instructions (they are not even available on the official HP website) and HP Omen also doesn't recognize it.
- Most importantly, it lacks RGB. It's not just that there's no "LGBT lighting," but also that, as shown in the picture: on the left a "green block" + WASD in purple, then "red" and on the right "blue." It's divided into blocks, meaning the LEDs under each block are only one (their own) color. So, if you want your Num Lock keys to not be "blue" - tough luck, the manufacturer made the decision for you. You can only change modes, breathing, blinking, and so on.
- The price is not very competitive compared to other offers.

If it's not my problem, then I wouldn't regret buying this keyboard.

And in my case: After the first few days of use, my W and D keys immediately stopped working correctly. I pressed them inward and removed the delay in Windows settings, not sure exactly what helped. I forgot about it for a while. But now they only work occasionally, and with great effort, you could say they almost don't work.
- I liked the design
- Side holders on the space bar
- Keys do not creak when pressed (but in my case, not everything is good with them)
- The cable is very high-quality and dense
- Headphone jack. (split into 2 3.5 jacks for mic and sound) - an adapter is included to make them into 1 3.5 jack.
- Wrist rest
