Camera (just top) Sound Tactile feedback Almost no difference with the 12 Pro Screen by all parameters Appearance (design) Ecosystem (various iOS features and overall interconnection of Apple devices) Face ID (works even in complete darkness) Connectivity (Qualcomm chip) Battery (lasts 1.5-2 days with 6-8 hours of screen time) Power reserve for 3-4 years (not suitable for everyone, however..) Absence of a network charger in principle, just a lighting-usb-c network cable Poor package contents (only 1 sticker) use Apple iPhone 12 64GB few months |
I have been using the iPhone 12 for 10 months, and this is my first smartphone of this brand! I switched from a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, and naturally, I am satisfied! The only downside is that after 10 months of use, the battery started to drain quickly (currently at 91%). If charged to 100% in the morning, with active use (including Bluetooth, mobile internet, geolocation, and one active SIM), by 2:00 PM the phone will only have 10-15% charge left. No complaints about the phone Not quite a justified price), and a rapidly depleting battery after 10 months of use |
First and foremost, the design and its execution make the initial impression, no matter what anyone says, but after previous rounded models, this "square" style looks elite and feels extremely reliable in the hand. This is probably the main reason why I started using it in the first place. The leap in stability after the Poco F5, where glitches happened randomly and froze the system, was tremendous — everything here just works, no failures or reboots. Overall, the system is quite convenient, and although I was simultaneously using an Android with 120 Hz, switching to 60 Hz on the iPhone wasn't critical, my eyes don't get tired, and the difference isn't as significant as people say. However, the memory capacity is somewhat disappointing: 64 GB is critically insufficient, and I had to buy more iCloud space after just a month of use. There's also an issue with the battery: bought the phone second-hand with a capacity of 85%, and in a year, it dropped to 83%, and under load, the charge melts away. So, if you want to understand whether iOS suits you, this is the best option for a "test drive," but if you know you'll like the system, it's better to go for newer models or at least the 128 GB version. I also liked the ergonomics and materials of the body; the phone fits very comfortably in the hand, and the square design adds confidence in the grip. Advantages also include the incredible stability of its performance. After my experience with Android (Poco), where I had to deal with lags, the smoothness here is just unbelievable; in a year of use, there hasn't been a single glitch that would make me nervous or require a reboot. The camera is more or less acceptable (see photo example below), suitable for social media, and shoots video quite well. It's still better than competitors at the same price or even more expensive. I was also impressed by the durability of the construction: I used it for six months without a case, and it fell a couple of times, but the screen didn't break, only the aluminum body got slightly dented, which doesn't affect its use, especially in a case. The limited storage is somewhat disappointing; 64 GB is critically low for the present day, so you constantly have to clean up your gallery or pay for cloud storage, which isn't very convenient. Also, I'm unsure whether this is specific to my device due to wear and tear, or if it's common, but the battery life leaves much to be desired: during gaming, the battery drains very quickly, which is an unpleasant experience. Additionally, the aluminum edges are quite soft, and if you carry it without a case, be ready for dents that can spoil the look. And the camera at night isn't as good as expected, with photos turning out average, so you might want to look at new models if night photography quality is a deciding factor for you. |

Best Smartphone from Apple
The base iPhone 12 is the direct successor to last year's iPhone 11 and the year before last, the iPhone Xr, which were the best-selling models of their generations. And this is logical, because from the point of view of an ordinary buyer, it offers optimal dimensions, screen size, filling and a price tag starting at $799 for the junior model with 64 GB of memory. Probably, it is this combination that will allow him to become the main bestseller in the new generation.
Display and design
iPhone 12 received a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with 2K resolution. The design of the smartphone is exactly the same as it was on many leaks: the body is made of glass, the side frames are made of aluminium, the recognizable screen cutout and the “square” main camera, which has become a reason for hatred in last year’s models. Insiders say that Apple wants to make its unified camera design look the same regardless of the number of modules. The aspiration is commendable, but so far it does not work out very well. But the flat side edges, like the iPhone 12 Mini, look great. Compared to the iPhone 11, it is 11% thinner, 15% smaller and 16% lighter.
New old camera
The main camera is dual, like last time: a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor (f / 1.6) and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f / 2.4 aperture (120 degrees). Like last time, they are located in a square block on the back. Like last time, no telephoto lens was added. But the night mode now works on both the ultra-wide-angle and the front camera.
Based on Apple A14 Bionic
The iPhone 12 is powered by the new Apple A14 Bionic, which Apple says is the fastest ARM processor on the market. It is produced on a 5nm process technology, has six processing cores and four graphics. Apple promises 50% faster speed than any other mobile processor. Considering Apple's seriousness with respect to ARM chips, we will accept this statement without too much skepticism. Moreover, the release of the new iPad Air, which uses the same processor, is still delayed. In terms of additional functions, the iPhone 12 is all familiar: Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers, Wi-Fi 6 module and a protected case that can withstand half an hour immersion to a depth of 6 metres. The main innovation is the new MagSafe wireless charger, which is attached to the phone with magnets built into the back cover.

If you're upgrading from 7 or lower, satisfaction is guaranteed
You can also switch from any X-model, but with 11 only if possible
In any case, I recommend it
