Bikes are intended to be secured by the top tube of the frame, using rubberized transition rings. For non-standard frame designs, a branded Thule Bike Frame Adapter 981 may be required. If the bikes mounted on the holder obstruct the visibility of the car's rear lights, the rack can be equipped with an optional light panel with Thule Light Board 976 auxiliary lights.
