I have been using the TV for over 2 months. The TV is just a bomb, the picture is incredibly gorgeous. I mostly watch movies and play BATTLEFIELD on my computer, no problem TV itself The sound is rather weak, but I installed the JBL soundbar and the sound became just space. There are too many buttons on the remote use Sony KD-65XG9505 few months |
The TV is a bomb)) The smart works fast, etc. The image quality of the TV is just top-notch. I read many reviews, mostly bad ones. I can openly say that most of them don't reflect reality. I bought it exclusively as a large monitor for PS4/Xbox. Image brightness, remote, low lag from 19.7 ms to 21.4 ms in game mode Not those scho buv suttevy minus that sound, so be against the backdrop of a fantastic image. |
i bought this model a couple of days ago.and returned it... i sit and think what to write about virtues ... 1. The problem with Bluetooth speaker connection (sound interrupts and when the speaker is connected, the remote starts lagging, to the point of becoming unusable). If you think it will be different with your TV, try connecting any audio system via Bluetooth to your TV, you will be surprised... this is a bug of all 9505 models! 2. The remote periodically stops working via the Bluetooth channel, and consequently, the voice search doesn't work. It's simpler to use the remote in infrared mode. (we overpay for this fancy remote, as it doesn't really work properly) 3. Try connecting an external drive to the TV... in connection mode as a storage for recording TV channels... despite the drive being formatted by the TV itself, it still doesn't see it when trying to record something... tested on three different disks 1 SSD and 2 HDD (software bug). 4. ALL TVs have darkened corners as if you are watching an image with a vignette effect (to be fair, this effect is minimal and not particularly noticeable during regular use). Just to add... the viewing angles aren't the best in class (the situation may vary from batch to batch). In terms of sound, the device is not outstanding, (purely a monitor function) suitable for background noise, and for quick movie monitoring... not for impressive viewing. You need external acoustics for that. And regarding the build quality, the device creaks like a cheap Chinese product, but this seems to apply to all modern manufacturers (a five-year-old Sharp is just a masterpiece in comparison). |
Quality update
The top model of Sony's XG line is the successor to another popular 65-inch TV, the KD-65XF9005, released in 2018. She received an updated image processor X1 Ultimate, evolved multimedia remote control, which has become thinner and more comfortable, as well as a new version of Android TV 8.0 with the possibility of a subsequent upgrade to 9.0. The smart platform has got a quick customizable menu and a clear interface, so it competes almost on equal terms with Tizen and webOS.
Acoustics, as before, is represented by two 10-watt speakers.
Flawless picture
The Sony KD-65XG9505 supports a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels and HDR, namely three standards: HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision (only HDR10+ is missing). The viewer is waiting for high detail and rich colours when playing the appropriate content. A large reserve of peak brightness allows you to fully reveal the capabilities of the extended dynamic range (in tests when playing HDR content, it exceeds 1100 cd / m2).
The presence of local dimming provides high levels of contrast and image uniformity. Light colours look natural in a well-lit room, while dark colours look natural in a dark room. Due to successful factory calibration at height and colour accuracy, which does not require additional settings from the user.
Only small viewing angles leave much to be desired. This is explained by the fact that the 65-inch model does not have X-Wide Angle technology, which improves visibility. In the 2019 lineup, it is available on versions with a larger screen size, starting with the Sony KD-75XG9505.
Blur-free motion, lag-free gaming
Thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate of the matrix, the TV does an excellent job of processing dynamic scenes. When playing content with fast-moving objects, fast response is guaranteed and there are no jerks, noise or strong blur. The manufacturer also worked on minimizing the input lag, which became noticeably better in the game mode (around 20 – 25 ms, while the input lag of the predecessor was almost 2 times longer).
Sony KD-65XG9505 is one of the best classic LED-backlit TVs today, able to impose competition on QLED and OLED counterparts.
