Model overview based on user reviews
The Sennheiser HD 280 PRO headphones are highly praised for their excellent sound quality, offering clear and confident bass with superior noise isolation. Users appreciate the comfortable fit even during long listening sessions, although some note that the tight fit can initially cause discomfort. The headphones are described as reliable and durable, with a long, sturdy cable that adds weight but provides convenience. While the ear cushions are soft, they may wear out over time, but replacements can be easily found. These headphones are recommended for both professional and casual use, offering a balanced and detailed sound profile ideal for critical listening and studio work. Despite minor drawbacks, such as the weight and initial tightness, the HD 280 PRO is considered a great value for its price, making it a popular choice among users.

wonderful model, really honored

280 Pro are valued among professionals and regular listeners alike. They are the cheapest of the best reference headphones for detailed audio monitoring. Honestly speaking... the earpads will wear out in half a year or a year. They are soft but not very durable. Initially, your ears will sweat and it will feel like something is squeezing your head XD. But you will get used to it in a few days. The isolation in these headphones is just right. The soft padding in the earpads allows for long listening sessions. The headphones offer a balanced and detailed sound profile, which is well-suited for critical listening and studio work. The bass is tight and controlled (although slightly elevated, with a drop at 200-300 Hz), while the mids are clean and detailed (slightly pronounced at +3 dB), with excellent separation between instruments and vocals. The highs are detailed but not harsh or sibilant (drop at 10 kHz), and the overall sound is cohesive and natural. I recommend these budget headphones for production and reference monitoring during mixing. I personally use these headphones as an additional monitoring device along with HD 660S.

Excellent quality at a reasonable price

Today I became the proud owner of these headphones, the sound is super, clear and confident bass is exactly what it should be, excellent noise insulation, even from a computer a regular MP3 plays very well, although my sound card is quite decent, the design of the model is flawless, it sits very well on the head comfortable, even with long-term use, in general, if you want to get real high-quality sound for an amount of no more than 3000 rubles, then this is your choice, which you will not regret!!!
I didn't notice any shortcomings.

I recommend these headphones to everyone
27 January 2015
Ideal as a gift. I bought these headphones for my husband as a gift half a year ago. He’s a fan of playing Tanchiki at night, but you can’t really play with a small child. And I guessed it, he was delighted! Considering that I am new to this kind of shopping, I spent a lot of time searching. I spent a very long time looking through different models, asked friends, read reviews, and almost everyone recommended the Sennheiser HD 280 PRO. They are relatively inexpensive in their price range, and this was one of the decisive factors.
Good quality (made in Jordan, not China), clear sound (transparent highs, powerful bass, and so on). Roughly speaking, when you put on headphones, you definitely don’t hear anyone or anything, even a child crying at night. They are soft to the touch, do not rub or pinch anything. The cord is long, which is convenient for me when I do my household chores with headphones on. Appearance – nice, standard design.
According to my husband, “there are no shortcomings.” But for me they are there. Firstly, the length of the cord gives weight, so when moving with them you feel heavy. Secondly, the very tight fit of the headphones causes fatigue after prolonged use. For new owners of headphones like me, it takes a long time to adapt to them. To be honest, when I first put them on and turned on the movie, I jumped a little in surprise, they put so much pressure on my brain. But for me, the advantages still outweigh the disadvantages, so I recommend it to everyone!

The German company Sennheiser has been delighting all fans of excellent sound since 1945. “Sound in the lead” is the modern motto of this brand, and when you put on the HD 280 PRO headphones, it’s as if you are right on stage.

German quality

The headphones are made very soundly, as befits a high-quality German product. The plastic is durable and pleasant to the touch. The design of the bowls is swivel, you can turn them both vertically and horizontally, and if you wish, listen in one ear, which is convenient for DJs. In addition, the headphones fold very compactly. They are convenient to transport.

But why the cable was made non-removable is not entirely clear. It is twisted and quite thick, giving a feeling of reliability, but also adds weight. Due to this, the left bowl, from which the cable exits, outweighs the right one, which may cause some discomfort during use.

The ear pads are traditionally made of leatherette, there are no spares in the kit, so you'll have to save these. Your ears will sweat in them, of course, but this is the trouble with many closed models.

First in line for good sound

Definitely when good sound was being played out, the HD 280 PRO was one of the first in line. Absolutely flat frequency response, without waves, conveys the sound as it really is. The soundstage is very detailed. Everything you need for mastering.

The frequency range of 8 – 25000 Hz will impress the amateur, but given that the human ear hears sound in the range of 16 – 20000 Hz, no matter how much someone would like to hear more, this is nothing more than fantasy. An impedance of 64 ohms indicates that the headphones are stationary. It is better to connect them, at least, to the sound card of the computer or directly to the mixer.

With all the attractiveness of the HD 280 PRO, it's hard to say how they are better than the same Sony MDR-7506 or Audio-Technica ATH-M40x, at an almost identical price and performance level. But for fans of the brand, this is not a question.
