MSI Optix MAG27CQ 27 " black
![]() | Outdated Product The eldest of the trinity of gaming monitors in the Optix MAG line combines in one bottle a large diagonal curved screen and a high frame rate — 144 Hz when connected via Display Port and 120 Hz when outputting a signal via HDMI port. The frame rate on the monitor screen automatically adapts to the frame rate at the output of the graphics adapter due to the adopted Adaptive Sync technology (aka AMD FreeSync), as a result of which it is possible to achieve a smooth display of the picture. By the way, it is displayed on a 27-inch MSI Optix MAG27CQ display at a maximum resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. In other respects, the VA-matrix is characterized by a response time of 1 ms, a peak brightness of 250 cd / m² and a static contrast ratio of 3000:1. The colour gamut of the matrix completely cov...ers the sRGB space triangle (by 110%), which guarantees accurate colour reproduction. Of the additional “goodies”, the monitor is interesting in the presence of a 2-port USB 3.0 hub and a stand on board, the capabilities of which provide adjusting the screen position in height, rotation and tilt angles. |

I don't have much experience with monitors, but after building a new PC (R5-2600, RTX 2070), I started thinking about replacing my old TN Dell 60Hz. I chose this monitor because it has everything I need - high refresh rate for CSGO and Dota 2, sufficient size and resolution for an immersive experience in AAA games since with RTX 2070 you can play almost everything in 1440p with >60 frames on max settings. It has VESA 75x75, and FreeSync compatible with Nvidia. I never regretted the purchase. Unfortunately, very soon this review will only be useful if purchasing this monitor second-hand, as it is being discontinued and replaced with a similar model, but at a different price. :( Build quality Beautiful picture Convenient menu navigation Quick and easy switching between color modes (FPS, RTS, Video, Standard, Eye Protection) - surprisingly, I use different modes constantly, moreover, MSI software can automatically change modes depending on the usage scenario. Convenient stand (tilt, swivel left/right/up/down, height adjustment), but I mounted it on a wall bracket to save more space on the desk. There is an audio output, i.e. through HDMI from the PC, video/audio signal is sent to the monitor, after which the audio signal from the monitor can be output to regular speakers (convenient if you want to connect two sound sources to the computer, for example, headphones (to the PC output) and speakers (to the monitor), and switch between them using standard Windows tools). Also, see the drawback for this point. If speakers are connected to the monitor, when the monitor "sleeps", a rather loud click is heard from the speakers for a split second, and also when waking up. Naturally, if these same speakers are connected to the PC, there is no click. Apparently, when sleeping/waking up, the monitor sends some impulse to the audio output, resulting in an unpleasant sound. I solved this problem simply by plugging headphones into the monitor and connecting the speakers to the PC. I have a TV connected through HDMI to one of the video card outputs (monitor is connected via DP). And when you're working on the computer and the TV turns on, the monitor goes black for 1 second and then continues working as if nothing happened. I don't know, maybe it's a feature of the graphics card... |
Let me tell you right away, the monitor is worth buying! I was choosing a monitor for gaming and so I could watch movies. I wanted it to have a good resolution, higher than FullHD and not 4K, since it’s too early for it, there’s no hardware to run it properly in games (for reasonable money), a VA or IPS matrix, good response and high Hertz, and of course more or less reasonable price (initially I looked at the Asus ROG SWIFT PG279Q for a long time, but the price is very high for it) based on this, I think it’s clear why I took the MSI Optix MAG27CQ. Since I have never had a curved monitor, I had to get used to it, after my 17-inch, in short, after a week of use, it already seems like an ordinary monitor to me, I got used to it, although initially it seemed that I was sitting right next to the TV) It’s a pleasure to play, the picture is very beautiful and smooth, and yet the curvature gives its effect; if during normal work it is noticeable that the monitor is curved, then in games this is not noticeable at all, but only as a plus. I was afraid that after switching to a VA matrix with IPS I would feel the difference between them, but no, everything is fine, I don’t notice the difference. In general, if you want a monitor with such characteristics and not overpay, then feel free to take this model, I took it and don’t regret it one bit! Smooth and rich picture, high Hertz, compared to other models, price For me, they don't exist. |
