Matte screen finish. Expanded colour gamut. AMD FreeSync support. Dark scene enhancement technology. Thin frames.

Fast 27" FHD gaming monitor with high refresh rate and AMD FreeSync technology. It is positioned as a product of the middle price category. Due to the combination of technical characteristics, it will suit a wide range of PC gaming enthusiasts, as well as beginners and professional cybersportsmen. The screen is based on a high-quality 8-bit IPS-matrix with W-LED backlight and a resolution of 1920x1080.

It provides an extended colour gamut (120% sRGB) and the most comfortable vertical/horizontal viewing angles. Response time compensation technology guarantees minimum switching time (1 ms in GtG scheme). With a refresh rate of 144Hz and fast response, the MSI Optix G271 monitor is the best choice for fast-paced games such as FPS, fighting games, sports simulations and real-time strategy games.

All of these games require the user to quickly respond to the current game situation, so the increased refresh rate and low response time can provide a tangible advantage over online rivals. With support for AMD FreeSync technology, it creates flawlessly smooth and high-quality images without the unpleasant visual effect of “breaking” the frame (screen tearing). Night Vision mode enhances the detail of the dark parts of game scenes, whether they occupy the entire screen or only a small part of it.

Model overview based on user reviews
The MSI Optix G271 is a 27-inch gaming monitor featuring a large IPS screen with a matte finish and a high refresh rate of 144Hz, providing a smooth gaming experience. It boasts good color reproduction and thin bezels, enhancing its stylish design. Users appreciate the convenient setup and various modes available via the joystick, although some modes like "Night mode" and "Shooters" may not be beneficial for everyone. The monitor is praised for having no dead pixels initially, but there is a noted risk of defects such as dead pixels or vertical lines appearing over time. Despite the potential for defects, the monitor is considered a good value for its price, offering features like AMD FreeSync support and dark scene enhancement technology. However, some users find the cable placement inconvenient. Overall, the MSI Optix G271 is a solid choice for gamers looking for an affordable monitor with a fast response time and dynamic gameplay capabilities, but buyers should be aware of the potential risks associated with product defects.
Pros

Cons

nice model, liked it
5 November 2021
Good monitor. Large screen. No dead pixels, gaming design, many modes on the joystick such as: Response time reduction, contrast, brightness, gaming, night, motion blur reduction. Also pleased with the convenient setup right out of the box. Not curved, IPS. As for disadvantages, I would note the inconvenient cable placement, as shown below, it took some effort, but as they say: "Done and forgotten." For its price, expectedly good, I would recommend purchasing it.
Convenient assembly out of the box, many modes on the joystick, gaming design, large IPS screen, no dead pixels, tilt adjustment. The bezels are quite thin, I liked this design. Since this is my first experience using monitors, I can only say this.
Bad. Bad modes that don't really help (not all, some are interesting). "Night mode" (screen just becomes yellow), "Shooters" (greatly increases sharpness). The rest is probably a matter of taste. Inconvenient cable placement.

Good, but risky monitor

I will explain everything clearly and concisely.
- Good color reproduction and thin bezels
- 144Hz
- 5s response time, but with technology - 1s
- Stylish and quite sturdy case
- Increased chance of receiving a defective product (especially dead pixels, for which you won't get a refund)
- After six months, a vertical line may appear or pixels may simply fail

The essential attributes of a good gaming monitor are fast response times and high refresh rates. All this is provided on board the affordable model MSI Optix G271.

Fast IPS panel

The focus of the monitor is a pseudo-eight-bit 27-inch diagonal IPS panel with a matte finish. The frame rate on it reaches 144 Hz, and the response time compensation technology guarantees a minimum switching time — from 1 ms in a grey pixel to grey scheme. The matrix is illuminated by a W-LED backlight system, the picture on it is broadcast in the usual resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.

Smooth flight

For the MSI Optix G271 screen, an extended coverage of the sRGB colour space is claimed — about 120%. The model also supports the AMD FreeSync system, which provides frame rate synchronization between the graphics card of the video signal source and the monitor. The technology improves the smoothness of dynamic gameplay and eliminates all kinds of image breaks due to out of sync in the transmission of the picture.

Proprietary technologies

Adherents of long gatherings in front of the monitor screen will appreciate the Anti-Flicker backlight flicker elimination and Less Blue Light filtering of the blue component of the spectrum. And avid gamers will come in handy technology to improve the display of dark scenes Night Vision. The list of positive qualities of the model is supported by thin frames (top and sides). Of the minuses of the MSI Optix G271, a high percentage of defects is noted — many monitors suffer from the presence of dead pixels on the screen.
