Model overview based on user reviews
The Makita UC3051A is a powerful electric chain saw, comparable to the average power of chainsaws, making it suitable for both construction and household tasks. With a 300 mm bar and a chain speed of 14 m/s, it efficiently cuts through soft woods like pine with ease. Users appreciate the quiet operation and the absence of exhaust fumes, a significant advantage over gasoline-powered saws. The saw features a keyless chain tension and blade replacement system, enhancing convenience. While the need for an electrical outlet can be limiting, this can be mitigated with a long extension cord. The saw's oil supply is adjustable, ensuring smooth operation, and its build quality reflects Makita's reputation for reliability. Overall, it is a robust tool for home use, offering sufficient power and resource with a great margin.
Pros
Cons
A chainsaw is a good thing, but it is not always possible to use it in construction or in a workshop. The exhaust of a gasoline engine is not the most pleasant thing, but in a limited volume it is still quite toxic, so you can use it without restrictions only in the open air. There is only one way out of this situation - a chain saw with an electric motor. Yes, such saws have their drawbacks, but if we take not some nameless China, but normal well-known brands, then they will be minimized. This is one of the most powerful electric saws, that is, in this indicator it is not inferior to the average power of chainsaws. The tyre is long, 400 millimeters, it is convenient and easy to work with it. The chain is good quality and cuts great. Soft woods, the same pine beams, half almost effortlessly. But at the same time, the noise is an order of magnitude less than when using a gasoline saw. Well, problems with refueling, of course, there are no problems either. But the oil reservoir is in place, sliding the chain on the tyre still requires small amounts of lubrication. It is spent sparingly, regular 200 ml ends approximately by the end of the second hour of work. Still, tying to an outlet is the biggest limitation of a power saw. Yes, you can throw an extension of the desired length, I myself made one for gardening. It took 25 meters of cable with a millimeter cross section and double PVC insulation plus a set of plug-socket and half an hour of time. But this cable bay weighs well, and it always gets underfoot. |
I've been using it for almost a year, sawed over 40m³ of wood, mostly pine and oak, satisfied with the tool. The power is sufficient, it’s convenient that there's no need to deal with gasoline, which makes it quieter in operation and there's no exhaust fumes. The oil supply is adjustable, and it has a reliable and convenient chain tensioning and bar clamping mechanism. For home use, the power and resource of this saw are more than enough with a great margin. When you take it in your hands, you immediately feel the quality of Makita. No |
