The choice was between LG 27GL850 and Gigabyte G27Q. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing both about the first and the second. Then I found out that a friend has a Gigabyte G27Q. I barely convinced myself to try it for a couple of days. I liked it a lot. I was already thinking about taking it, but chance intervened. I also had a chance to try out the LG 27GL850. After 4 hours spent in front of the LG monitor, there was no longer any doubt - this is mine. Was purchased after 3 days (it took a long time to deliver to the store). The matrix was found without any glare or broken pixels. I read somewhere that they write that my eyes hurt. I don't agree. Brightness and color can be adjusted very flexibly and correctly, regardless of the 12 factory-preset profiles. So, those who wrote about eyes are apparently not friends with hands. For gamers! Not a single description of the monitor contains a word about the built-in gaming sight. And it is in this model! The monitor stand was disappointing. The monitor cannot be completely lowered onto the table. There is a distance of 10 cm from the table to the bottom of the monitor. In the photo in the lowest position. You cannot yet adjust the horizontal rotation of the screen. Only together with the stand. |
Great monitor. Fast, colorful. For those in doubt, look at the real analytics on it (for example, here https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg_27gl850.ht Speed, color rendering by and large, nothing. The stand is just a little bulky. But this, as they say, is what it is - you need to somehow hold it steady. ![]() |
Good, but expensive. Matrix, frameless, USB outputs, height and tilt adjustment. Price. For this price, we were promised full G-Sync and RGB lighting. Unfortunately, this was not the case, which I found out after the purchase. However, the video for this monitor demonstrates this lighting, misleading customers. ![]() |
New Leader
The LG UltraGear 27GL850 is arguably the most advanced gaming monitor in recent times. It is built on a Nano IPS panel and boasts an honest hardware response time of GtG 1 ms, which none of its competitors can claim. Other IPS monitors, such as the cinematic LG UltraGear 34GK950F, have a GtG rating of 3 ms or more, with 1 ms achieved only through the software MBR technology.
For Radeon and GeForce
The UltraGear 27GL850-B has a solid screen diagonal of 27 inches, a resolution of QuadHD or 2560x1440 pixels (image density of 109 PPI), and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It supports two adaptive FPS synchronization technologies for gaming with screen refresh rates: AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. The first works on PCs with Radeon graphics cards and the GeForce 1000 series or higher, and the second with the GeForce 600 series and above.
For Gamers and Film Buffs
In addition to the "reactive" response time, the Nano IPS panel boasts an extended color gamut — 98 percent according to the DCI-P3 standard or 135 percent sRGB. This enabled UltraGear 27GL850 to support HDR10 technology, providing a more "vivid" picture in games and movies. Other useful LG technologies are also implemented: DAS for minimizing input lag, Black Stabilizer to better see opponents in the dark, and the onscreen Crosshair for those types of game weapons that lack their aim.
Ergonomic Stand
The bezels around the LG UltraGear 27GL850 screen are very narrow, almost invisible. The stand is adjustable in three planes: tilt angle (from -5° to +15°), height (+11 cm), and a 90° rotation to a vertical position. This last feature can be useful for professional portrait photo editing as well as for creating a multi-panel setup from multiple monitors. Those looking to save as much as possible on purchasing a 144 Hz gaming monitor should consider the LG UltraGear 24GL650.
