Advanced Gen4 class SSD drive with quite high speeds, quality thermal control, and impressive memory capacities (from 1 to 4 TB). It belongs to the premium price segment and can attract gamers and eSports players, enthusiasts, and other users building a powerful personal computer. The drive is designed in a compact M.2 form factor and features an aluminum low-profile heatsink, broadening installation options and allowing its use in the thinnest laptops and ultrabooks.
Support for the PCI-E 4.0 interface and NVMe protocol ensures the highest performance with read/write speeds of up to 7000/6000 MB/s, respectively. Despite the lack of Sony certification, the technical specifications of the Lexar NQ790 exceed the requirements of the PlayStation 5 console, allowing it to be used as a primary or additional gaming storage. Special attention is given to reliability and durability: a write resource of 600 TB (TBW) and a daily rewrite rate of the entire volume of 0.3 times a day guarantee a long service life even under intensive use. A thin graphene heatsink ensures efficient heat dissipation even in confined spaces. Completing the picture is an extended five-year warranty from the manufacturer.

Thin Profile
The Lexar NQ790 is a high-performance, compact, and affordable SSD in M.2 format with PCIe 4.0 interface. It is equipped with a Maxio MAP1602A quad-core controller, also known as Falcon Lite, which provides read speeds of up to 7000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6000 MB/s when handling large files. The processing of small files reaches speeds of up to 800 thousand IOPS, facilitated by the Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology.
Smart Algorithm
Instead of an integrated DRAM cache, the SSD uses part of the computer's RAM. However, the HMB technology reserves only 64 MB of RAM, which has minimal impact on the overall system performance. The drive uses 128-layer 3D TLC memory from YMTC, and the virtual SLC cache combines data from three cells to increase write speed and responsiveness.
Versatile Beast
The Lexar NQ790 is suitable for use in various devices: desktop PCs, including all-in-ones, laptops, ultrabooks, and the PlayStation 5 gaming console. In the case of the PS5, it is recommended to install an additional heatsink since the SSD slot does not have its own ventilation. Importantly, the drive meets the requirements for both the standard and updated PS5 Pro versions, providing speeds over 5500 MB/s.
