Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core i7 Comet Lake series, particularly the i7-10700K and i7-10700 models, offers excellent performance and stability, making it a strong competitor to AMD's Ryzen 3800X. Users appreciate its ability to boost up to 5 GHz, providing a powerful gaming experience. However, the i7-10700K can run very hot when overclocked, necessitating robust cooling solutions like water cooling or high-performance air coolers. The i7-10700, on the other hand, is praised for its cool and efficient operation without the need for overclocking, making it ideal for household needs. While the price is slightly higher than average, the reliability and performance of Intel processors are highlighted, with users noting that they handle all tasks effortlessly. Overall, the series is recommended for those seeking a balance between performance and thermal efficiency, with the i7-10700 being a more cost-effective choice for non-overclockers.

No one has surpassed Intel in terms of reliability yet. RIZEN models still require expensive cooling systems because that's just how they are designed. With INTEL, it's simpler: just install a tower and a high-speed cooler, and everything is fine. I have a "Corsair" running at 2000 RPM. In idle, the temperature is 37.8 degrees, under load it reaches 50, but that's the maximum. The temperature doesn't go higher. Copes with all tasks without particularly straining. No. use Intel i7-10700 OEM few months |
Bought a 10700 with a turbo boost of 4.8 GHz, which is almost 5 like the K version, but it doesn't heat up at all. Installed it with an AIO cooler, and I don't see the point in overclocking it. The 3070 graphics card is fully utilized, and the CPU itself doesn't even reach half-load in top games. With the AIO, the maximum temperature I've seen is 40 degrees in Exodus. So don't get lured by these "K" versions. Cold and productive under its own power, an ideal choice for household needs. The price, but this is already a stone above the average category. use Intel i7-10700 BOX few months |
At first it seemed too hot on a two-section CBO, but in manual mode 5Ghz @ 1.225v, the temperature in idle is 28-40 °, in games it does not exceed 60 °, and when rendering it heats up to 80 with peaks up to 84). If you are going to take 5.1-5.3Ghz at ~ 1.35v on it, take a good three-section one for cooling (ala kraken x73) Excellent stability and performance at 9900k (more than 5k parrots in Cinebench R20) Fiery and burning :) |
