An affordable power supply unit from Gigabyte with an 80+ Silver quality certificate, designed for mid-budget gaming and work PCs with a total system power consumption of around 500 – 550 W. The model provides high energy efficiency and operational stability with efficiency over 90%, and it fully complies with modern power standards, including ATX 3.0.

Cooling is ensured by a 120 mm fan with a fluid dynamic bearing (FDB), which guarantees low noise levels and an extended lifespan. Flat power cables do not obstruct air flows, providing better cooling inside the case. The Gigabyte PS is equipped with a dedicated +12V power rail, ensuring stable voltage for processors and graphics cards. The maximum current on the +12V rail reaches 45.8 A, allowing the power supply to easily handle the loads of modern systems equipped with next-generation processors and graphics cards.

The cabling system is non-modular, but cable lengths (e.g., 600 mm for the motherboard and 650 mm for the processor) ensure convenient connectivity for any system configurations. Reliability, stability, and safety of the power supply are guaranteed by a wide range of protective systems, including protection against short circuits (SCP), over/under voltage (OVP/UVP), as well as overload (OPP/OLP) and overheating protection (OTP). The official warranty from the manufacturer is 5 years.

How to choose a power supply for a PCBasics of choosing a reliable and balanced power supply for your home, office and gaming computer
Model overview based on user reviews
The Gigabyte PS-Series, particularly the P650SS model, is praised for its quiet cooling and minimal voltage deviations under load, making it a reliable choice for mid-range PCs. Users appreciate its long PCI-E and CPU power cables, which provide ample headroom for setups like the Ryzen 5 5600 and RX5700XT. The PSU is noted for its 80+ Silver certification and five-year warranty, offering good value for money. However, some users find the motherboard power cable excessively fragmented, which complicates installation. Despite concerns about the capacitors, the unit's performance and price make it a treasure for many. The P650SS ICE variant is highlighted for its white design and Japanese capacitors, although the flat cables can be inconvenient to manage. Overall, the Gigabyte PS-Series offers a strong price/quality ratio, especially appealing before potential price increases.

Silver 80 with a five-year warranty, quiet cooling for a reliable mid-range PC
28 February 2025
Purchased as a replacement for the deceased Gamemax 700 W. It's ample for a setup with a Ryzen 5 5600 + Gigabyte Aorus RX5700XT + 4 case fans. The power supply cooling operates extremely quietly, in my case quieter than the case fans. During stress tests under load, the deviations in the lines are minimal. Overall, 650 W is still enough even in 2025)) This unit at such a price is a treasure. During installation, I spent more time untangling the ATX power spaghetti for the motherboard, they could have made a single ribbon already)

System consumption during benchmark:
CPU 77.89 W
GPU 178.98 W (PPT Limit 220 W)
- quiet cooling
- minimal voltage deviations on lines under load
- R5 5600 + RX5700XT is more than enough
- long PCI-E and processor power cables
- excessively fragmented power cable of the motherboard
- more downsides and none

Replaced a deceased Gamemax 700W with this. It's more than enough for a combo of Ryzen 5 5600 + Gigabyte Aorus RX5700XT + 4 case fans. The PSU fan runs extremely quietly, quieter than the case fans in my situation. During stress tests under load, deviations on the lines were minimal. Overall, 650W is still enough even in 2025)) this model for such a price is a gem. Took longer to untangle the ATX power cables for the motherboard during installation, they could have made a single braided cable by now.)

System consumption during benchmark:
CPU 77.89W
GPU 178.98W (PPT Limit 220W)
- quiet cooling
- minimal voltage deviations on lines under load
- R5 5600 + RX5700XT has plenty of headroom
- long PCI-E and CPU power cables
- overly fragmented power cable for the motherboard
- more cons and nothing else

I took it and don't regret it

For the money, the unit is excellent.
I use it for 5700xt and 5 5600 (5700xt overclocked) no problems were found in a month, but I'm not exactly sure about the capacitors. For such a modest price, it raises concerns.
The wires are quite normal
Good price, silver certificate
I doubt the capacitors
