A well-savvy DVR with support for recording videos in ultra-high resolution 4K — 3840x2160 pixels at 30 fps. On the video with DDPai Mini5 license plates of cars are clearly visible in almost any shooting conditions, be it on a clear sunny day, fog, twilight or pitch darkness. The field of view angle of the standard recorder optics is about 140°. Inside the compact Mini5 stick is a Sony IMX415 matrix coupled with a HiSilicion Hi3559 image processor. Also, “under the hood” of the head unit, separate places are provided for the built-in 64 GB EMMC 5.1 drive, a Wi-Fi wireless adapter and a 6-axis gyroscope (measures data on accelerations and decelerations, driving uphill, changing lanes). On the regular armament of the car recorder, in addition, there is a GPS module that collects information about the speed of the car and draws a trip track on the map...(in a mobile application for a paired smartphone). During the movement, the device warns the driver about pedestrians on the road, controls the observance of the lane and the distance to the car in front. A durable and hardy supercapacitor is assigned to the role of the battery of the device.

Model overview based on user reviews
The DDPai Mini5 dashcam is highly praised for its excellent assembly quality, superior shooting quality, and compact design, making it nearly invisible behind the rearview mirror. Users appreciate its use of supercapacitors, which prevent battery swelling issues common in other models. The dashcam's image detail is impressive both day and night, and the absence of a display is seen as a benefit, allowing for easier settings adjustments and footage viewing via a smartphone app. The built-in 64GB memory eliminates the need for a separate memory card. While the standard gray tape on the holder is criticized, it can be replaced with a more aesthetically pleasing option. The dashcam includes useful features like GPS, speed, and distance tracking, and its price-to-quality ratio is considered excellent.
Pros

Cons

Very satisfied with the recorder, connected it and forgot about it.

When choosing a dashcam, there were three criteria: compactness, features, and price. This is the best option for such a price. The design is excellent, the compactness is great - it’s completely unseen behind the rearview mirror. It’s nice that it runs on supercapacitors; I previously had a dashcam from xiaomi, and its battery swelled in six months, causing the case to come apart at the seams. The quality of the case materials and the mount is top-notch, there’s no looseness at all, so the image doesn’t shake on any road. Regarding the image - the detail is good both day and night. In my opinion, screens in dashcams aren’t necessary. The absence of a display is not a minus but a plus. It’s easier to perform settings manipulations on a smartphone, and also to view the recorded footage. I was pleasantly surprised by the information displayed on the image when connected to the dashcam through the app (current speed, distance covered, location via GPS, speed of cars moving ahead!!!, acceleration, and much more). It was also pleasing that you don’t need to purchase a separate memory card, as it has 64GB onboard. As for the mount: the only downside is the standard gray tape, which looks terrible, so I ripped it off and used 3M black automotive double-sided tape instead. In some reviews, you can see a straight cable connection, but mine came with an L-shaped one out of the box. I connected it to the onboard network through the fuse block to hide all the wires and make it look nice. It’s not complicated, but you’ll need to buy a converter.
