Transformer with excellent display
The ZenBook Flip 14 is a high-performance convertible laptop for those who want the ultimate beefy feel of the other premium models in the Zenbook family, but with a touchscreen in mind. The ZenBook Flip 14 UX463FL features a 14-inch IPS-class touchscreen with 1920x1080 resolution and minimal bezels around the screen. The colour gamut practically coincides with the sRGB (or 72% NTSC) colour space, so everyone who works with visual content will surely like it. And non-designers will also like it, the picture here is excellent.
Core i7 Comet Lake and 1024 GB SSD
In terms of hardware, we have an excellent, but not fantastic, bunch of eight-thread Core i5 of the tenth generation, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce MX250 graphics card, and a capacious 1024 GB SSD. If we remember that we have an ultrabook in front of us, then we will see a well-balanced balance between performance, heating level and power consumption. If you forget about it for a moment, then I would like more RAM, so that in a couple of years you won’t regret the lack. But, alas, the RAM memory is soldered on the board, and there is no additional slot here.
Signature touchpad ScreenPad, acting as an additional display
The ZenBook Flip's uniqueness doesn't end with being a tablet. An unusual element that distinguishes it from other premium laptops is the proprietary ScreenPad touchpad. It's essentially an additional 5.65-inch Super IPS display that can act as a secondary screen when multitasking. For example, put a numeric keypad on the touchpad when working with tables, add shortcuts to frequently used applications, or allocate a separate place for useful macros. Thanks to this versatility of the touchpad, Asus engineers were able to abandon the additional block with numbers on the keyboard in favor of a full-fledged layout.
Stylish, durable and slim aluminium body
Among other features of the model, it is worth noting a stylish, durable and thin aluminium case, a pair of high-quality speakers from Harman Kardon, a face scanner, a wireless module with Wi-Fi 6 support and a branded ErgoLift hinge, which, when open, acts as a laptop stand, slightly lifting it back above the surface, allowing free exit of excess heat from the case. Given the class of the device, you can only regret that the USB-C port does not support Thunderbolt.
