Glows brighter, buzzes quieter

Acer's senior line of multimedia laptops is the Aspire 7 A715-71. It differs from the mid-range Aspire 5 A515 line for the better in the presence of a keyboard backlight (fixed brightness) and a dual-fan cooling system. However the fans are not spaced at different corners of the case, as in more expensive gaming laptops, so the Cooling system is quieter, but not much more efficient.

Cope with new games

Despite the ascetic appearance of an office or multimedia laptop, the Aspire 7 A715-71G has quite a gaming interior. Processors are represented by high-frequency quad-core Core i5-7300HQ and i7-7700HQ (the second one with support for Hyper-Threading multithreading), and video cards — GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti (even the latest games will be pulled at medium settings). RAM can be from 6 to 16 GB, but we recommend buying at least 8 GB. The hard drive capacity can vary from 500 GB to 1 TB, while the optional SSD is strictly 128 GB. It is most reasonable to choose a two-disk configuration: a fast SSD for the operating system and applications and a capacious HDD for games, photos and videos.

Justified savings

The disadvantage of the Acer Aspire 7 A715-71G is typical for laptops, which, being multimedia, try to play on the gaming field. For the sake of cost reduction, first of all, those elements that do not affect FPS in games are amenable to simplification — in particular, the screen matrix (dim TN instead of "juicy" IPS). However, the price of the Acer Aspire 7 A715-71G turned out to be really low compared to real gaming laptops with a similar configuration, so it's a shame to complain.
