The eighth generation of the Xiaomi brand fitness tracker was introduced in 2023, succeeding the Mi Band 7. The model underwent specific updates, including a switch from a plastic to a metal "core", and a slightly more capacious battery (190 mAh compared to 180), allowing for a maximum autonomy of 16 days (though with active use and the Always-On Display feature, a recharge will be needed after about 6 days).
Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 fitness bracelet supports a richer set of sports modes: 150 modes (as opposed to 130 in its predecessor). The shape and size of the gadget's display remain the same — an elongated touchscreen with an AMOLED matrix resolution of 490x192 pixels. A refresh rate of 60 Hz and a peak brightness of 600 nits are declared, ensuring smooth interface operation and good data readability under various lighting conditions.
The model is capable of detecting real-time heart rate, measures steps taken, saturation, active time, distance traveled, and can also track sleep, stress level, and maintain a women's calendar. The water resistance parameters are WR50, allowing hand washing and even swimming in the pool (corresponding fitness mode included). Besides traditional use, the case (without strap) can be fixed on running shoes to measure cadence (step frequency) and other runner metrics. Traditional good functionality and other features of the bracelet are offered at a quite reasonable price.

i do not recommend buying at all, they will not last long due to the strap which cannot be replaced. beautiful screen, customization, flashlight auto-brightness works for a long time in the dark, immediately blinds, in bright light I wait two or three seconds. The strap buckle constantly catches. After a year of use, the strap completely cracked, replacement is impossible, glue doesn't help. The app on the smart device is buggy. They ruined the smartband, they changed it and removed some functions altogether. Good matrix, screen size, base of modern functions such as sleep analysis, blood oxygen, stress level, flashlight is a very good thing The new app doesn't have the Russian language, and the days of the week on the watch faces are displayed in English. I don't like this update because they've redone most of the features, and some have been removed altogether. The "Do Not Disturb" function works incorrectly: once it completely muted my smartphone, causing it to freeze. Without connecting to the smartphone, the bracelet cannot keep time properly, it gets out of sync. Once my bracelet froze, and I had to disconnect it through the app and reconnect it, which caused all reminders to reset because they are not saved in the account.
