The first Redmi TWS earbuds and a good low-cost solution for those who like the form factor and appearance of Apple AirPods, but do not like their price. The model, released at the end of 2021, quickly became a hit in China, despite the obvious disadvantage of not being too compact. They are really above average here, and this affects ergonomics. But the case turned out to be extremely compact and convenient.
The headphones are attached with magnets, the lid closes tightly, the assembly is excellent. The glossy surface is prone to scratches, but in this case, you can choose a protective case in different colours, since the headphones and case are only available in classic white. Redmi Buds 3 are IP54 dust and water resistant, making them suitable for everyday outdoor use.
Bluetooth 5.2 guarantees a stable connection up to 10 m and minimal signal delay. The Qualcomm 3040 chip with support for the aptX codec provides high quality sound with good detail, but this will be noticeable only on smartphones with the appropriate processors, on the rest only the standard SBC codec is supported. Two noise-canceling microphones provide good audibility and speech intelligibility in quiet and not very noisy environments, which decrease noticeably with increasing noise.
The device has touch control, but to access all the functions, it is recommended to download the Xiaomi Ai Lite or Mi Buds M8 applications. A full headphone battery charge is enough for 4-5 hours of operation, depending on the volume level, and up to 20 hours with case support. A 10-minute charge will extend the battery life of the headphones by an hour and a half. The case charges via USB-C.
