Model overview based on user reviews
The WD Elements Portable SE 2.5" hard drive is appreciated for its quiet operation and suitability for storing non-system files like music and movies. It features an angular and straightforward design, although some users find it not very portable due to its shape and smudge-prone glossy edges. The drive offers a decent file copying speed of around 30 MB/s, and its compact size is noted, although one user experienced a significant issue with durability, reporting that the drive failed after six months of use. Overall, it is a good option for those seeking a simple, reliable storage solution, but potential buyers should be aware of possible durability concerns.
Pros
Cons
If I'm not mistaken, this is the most compact and spacious hard drive at the moment. There are simply no others with such a capacity. If you want to buy something with room to spare, it's better to get one that's a terabyte. This capacity will last for a long time. Angular and straightforward design, without any unnecessary extras. Operates quietly. No vibrations during operation, possibly due to the rubber feet at the bottom of the case. Decent file copying speed, averaging 30 MB/s. Same angular design. Not very comfortable to carry in a pocket. Glossy smudge-prone edges on the case. |
Great for storing non-system files, operates quietly, and consumes little energy. Perfectly suited. I mainly use it for storing music and movies, as it was made for this purpose. 500 GB is more than enough. It doesn't make noise. it is not advisable to install OS on it (slow caching, system requires more) |
avoid purchasing such trash small and black complete garbage (now literary) died after half a year. Repair is pointless. The board is made very simply. The connector is attached directly to it. With frequent use, it falls off. use WD Elements Portable SE 2.5" month or more i recommend it don't buy |
