Worked on a diesel Freelander 2 for seven winters!!! By the 8th winter, it started to fail in the cold! Siberia-Altai. I live in Novy Urengoy and on my second new car, there's the same problem: new batteries (including Varta 580901080) are completely unsuitable for cold regions of Russia. At temperatures below -30°C, they freeze to "0". With Varta, the voltage dropped to 6V from a charged 12V. For northern regions, I recommend purchasing batteries marked "for extreme temperatures," which usually range from -45°C to +60°C. Installed it and forgot. Now this battery is priced at 11,000 rubles. Made in Germany. When making the choice, I wanted something new, so I chose this battery because at the time the price difference was only 1,500 rubles. I have no regrets since instead of electrolyte, it has absorbed mats. And you can even turn it upside down. Now, with such a price tag, few would take such experiments.
