Outdated Product
Vaillant's ecoTEC pro VUW family of gas condensing boilers is available on the market in three main models with a useful output of 23, 28 and 35 kW. Specifically, this modification is medium (28 kW), and therefore the manufacturer recommends it for installation in rooms up to 224 m2. The device belongs to two-circuit solutions, that is, it can also provide constant hot water supply. The average efficiency for the season is an excellent 107%. The control panel is equipped with a convenient backlit display, the power of the device is adjustable from 28% to 100%, there is a special summer mode of operation (hot water preparation only). All components of the boiler are made in Germany.

FAQ: 10 frequently asked questions about heating boilersAnswers to common questions in the section "heating boilers"
Economical condensing boiler from a well-known German company
15 January 2018
Here again they started talking about the future rise in the price of natural gas, and once again I was glad that last year I replaced my old gas boiler with this model. After all, efficiency is by far one of the most important points for any household appliance. And in this parameter, this boiler is simply magnificent.
First and foremost, I was attracted by the fact that Vaillant is a private German company and the most critical parts of this double-circuit condensing boiler's construction – the heat exchangers – are made not just anywhere, but in Germany. However, the main advantage of this model lies in something completely different. In addition to high power (up to 28 kW), it boasts outstanding efficiency. This is achieved through a more complex and well-thought-out design, which includes two stages of heat transfer. First, the water is heated by the hot combustion products of the gas, and then these same flue gases are cooled to the temperature at which the contained water vapor begins to condense, releasing even more heat. As a result, the actual savings compared to a conventional boiler are around 7-8%. I heat approximately 158 square meters, and the savings on such an area are quite significant. The boiler is equipped with a convenient digital control unit that can be integrated into a "smart home" system and has a forced draft for combustion products.
It is necessary to divert the condensate, and up to 1.5-2 liters per hour is produced. The claimed efficiency of 107% is purely a marketing gimmick. Every schoolchild who has somewhat paid attention to their physics teacher knows that the efficiency cannot be 100%. What "marketeers" consider as 100% is the efficiency of a regular boiler. The real efficiency of condensing models does not exceed 96-97% in any case, and in household models, it's impossible.
