Model overview based on user reviews
The Transcend JetFlash 790 USB flash drive is generally well-regarded for its high read speed and value for money. It offers a range of capacities from 8GB to 512GB, making it versatile for different storage needs. Users appreciate its backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and its stability during use. However, the product has some drawbacks, such as a flimsy retractable mechanism that can be problematic over time, and some models lack an LED indicator. The actual available storage is slightly less than advertised, which has disappointed some users. Despite these issues, many find it a reliable and convenient option for everyday use, though caution is advised with frequent large file transfers due to potential memory degradation. Overall, it is considered a good choice for its price, with the caveat of handling the retractable mechanism carefully.

Value for money. Acceptable data transfer speed. No LED indicator in the 128GB model. Slight play in the retractable mechanism. |
Flash drive Transcend JetFlash 790 64Gb. Purchased in the fall of 2019. Judging by the rave reviews of past years, it was better before... The reading speed is still high - it holds a hundred, but with recording it’s no longer a cake. At first it cheerfully shows 35-40 (about three seconds) and then sadly fluctuates 20-25... Not everything is in order with the declared size either. The system defines it as 60 Gb, but only 56Gb is available, which is less than what other manufacturers offer. In the vast majority of flash drives with a capacity of 64Gb, approximately 59Gb are available. I didn’t expect this from Transcend... The retractable mechanism is not the standard of reliability, of course, but it works. High read speed. Mediocre recording speed. Flimsy body. |
Conducted various tests and the result is not bad for the price. The actual capacity is 112 GB, speed is 72-100 MB/s. The flash drive also works in USB 2.0 interface at a speed of 35MB/s. I recommend it to everyone. backward compatibility of interfaces and price foldable body can be broken if not used carefully |

Over time, I found the need for a flash drive with a larger capacity, like 128 or 256 GB. After studying the market, I decided to buy the same model with 128 GB, as the price-to-quality ratio was optimal. When I connected both flash drives of this model, 64 GB and 128 GB, to the computer, I noticed that the 128 GB version lacks a light indicator. This may not be critical, but such a feature should be described when listing specifications on websites.
