Multi-purpose wireless router (router) of the N300 class with support for Wi-Fi 4 wireless networks and a built-in 2G/3G/4G/LTE modem (Mini SIM SIM card format). The manufacturer is positioning itself as a product of the middle price category, focused on servicing the needs of a remote small office, a small suburban private house, a small cafe or other facilities that lack the possibility of a cable connection. Thanks to the built-in universal modem, it is able to provide Internet access wherever there is a coverage of a mobile operator. In addition, the Tenda 4G06 router can distribute the Internet received via a Fast Ethernet WAN connection to the provider's network at speeds up to 100 Mbps. In case of its failure or failure, it is easy to switch to the cellular network of one of the mob...ile operators (it works without problems with Vodafone, lifecell and Kyivstar). The router is equipped with visual LED indicators and two external detachable antennas that transmit and receive data in cellular networks. Standards supported: 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA and 4G LTE-FDD and TDD-LTE with transfer rates up to 150/50 Mbps (download/upload). The integrated Wi-Fi module, paired with a powerful processor, operates in the 2.4 GHz band and supports MIMO 2x2 mode, which makes it possible to serve up to 32 devices and provides a theoretical connection speed of up to 300 Mbps (real speed — 100-110 Mbps).

Model overview based on user reviews
The Tenda 4G06 router offers a compact design with the ability to work with SIM cards from various operators, making it convenient for areas with good cellular coverage. It supports 4G LTE and provides a maximum wireless speed of 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. However, users have reported significant issues with its performance, particularly for online gaming, due to unstable ping and frequent connection breaks. Additionally, the router's software seems to be lacking, as it does not save APN settings after a power outage, reverting to default settings, which can be problematic for certain operators like Kyivstar. While the design is appreciated, the firmware issues and lack of reliability during power interruptions are major drawbacks.
Pros

Cons

Not suitable for online games
16 November 2021
Most likely the firmware is crooked; 16.11 is the latest one. The ping jumps like crazy, I tried it on 3 tele2 megaf and eta operators. In games, movement begins and teleportations or disconnections begin. In room 20-25 we rule out overheating, changed the location with other towers, repeated the same result, the same result started from under a clean system. Connect all 3 sticks. It was not possible to look at dbi and noise in the browser, lol)
I inserted a SIM card from any Russian operators and it works without additional manipulations
Just a dead ping, the connection breaks.

The router does not save the APN settings after a power outage, but pulls up the default ones from the SIM card. If you have a Kyivstar operator, bypass this router. If another operator - check when buying.

Even a brief power outage turns this router into a useless plastic dust collector.

The compact Tenda 4G06 router with two protruding ears of antennas “extracts” the Internet directly from the air, provided that the given area is sufficiently well covered by cellular communications.

Work in the field

The ability of the device to work in the field without a hard connection to the twisted pair is explained by the presence of an LTE modem in the equipment. To run it, you need to insert a SIM card into the router. The SIM card format here is an outdated Mini SIM, so the first step is to get a suitable adapter. The router is configured via the web interface at 192.168.0.1 or the Tenda Wi-Fi mobile application.

Speed characteristics

The model distributes the Internet only in one frequency band of 2.4 GHz with a maximum bandwidth of up to 300 Mbps. On an LTE connection, the download speed of files rests on the "ceiling" of 150 Mbps, data sending — 50 Mbps. When connected to a global network via a LAN connector, the router accepts a maximum of 100 Mbps. Up to 32 clients connect to the access point at the same time.

Proprietary technologies

An important advantage of Tenda 4G06 is the support for Beamforming technology, which generates a directional signal to a specific gadget. And the model also has an RJ-11 telephone port — you can connect a landline phone to it. Thanks to the support of VoLTE, to communicate with the subscriber, it is enough to call the SIM card number inserted into the router. The device is designed to serve the needs of a remote small office, a small country house, a small cafe or other facilities that lack the possibility of a cable connection to the Internet.
