Model overview based on user reviews
The Sprut GPD 25-4S-130 circulation pump is a compact and efficient choice for heating systems. Users appreciate its easy installation and the availability of three speed modes, with most finding the medium setting sufficient. The pump's energy consumption is minimal, making it cost-effective. Some users noted initial noise that subsided quickly, and while the pump itself operates quietly, the sound of water circulation can be noticeable. The pump's motor is cooled by the circulating liquid, reducing the risk of overheating, but it is important to ensure the water is free from solid particles to prevent clogging. Overall, the pump offers reliable performance at a reasonable price, making it a good choice for home heating systems.
Pros
Cons
I purchased this pump on the strong recommendation of the technician who was installing the solid fuel boiler. I was a bit puzzled by the very low price, but I decided to take the risk and bought this model. Overall, I think the choice wasn't bad. The price is pleasant, initially it even made me cautious, but it turned out the quality is at least decent. I hope it will serve me well for a long time (there's really not much that can break - cast iron + stainless steel, except maybe the motor itself). I think there’s no point in buying more expensive models since the pump's design is quite simple, and overpaying for a brand is just silly. I liked that the pump is very compact, and there were no issues with installation. There was some strange noise when it was first turned on, but it stopped after a few minutes and didn't occur again. It seems that its power is sufficient for circulating water through a fairly long heating system. The manufacturer has provided three speed modes, and my pump is working on the second mode, which means its potential is even higher. The energy consumption practically did not affect the electricity bill. If the pump itself operates quietly, the sound of water circulating in the pipes is constantly audible. I'm not sure if the pump is directly to blame, but it sometimes gets annoying, especially at night. |
Reliable mid-range pump with the added bonus of cooling the motor from the pumped fluid. Well suited for installation at home in the heating system, but it would be nice to install a water filter at the entrance. It is very easy to connect to the power supply, and in general, the installation of the pump in the heating system did not take much time. Usually, with circulation pumps, you have to fiddle around before connecting it properly. There are three speeds. I rarely use the maximum, mostly on the medium. The pump's motor is cooled by the liquid it circulates. This means there is no risk of the motor overheating and breaking down during prolonged use. The main thing is to ensure there are no solid particles in the water, otherwise, it may get clogged. It is working in the heating system and hasn't needed repairs so far. It operates a bit noisily, noticeably humming at maximum speed. But as I mentioned, it doesn't need to be used that often. Liquid engine cooling is both a plus and a minus. If the water is clean, everything is fine, but if it contains sand or lime, there might be problems. |
