I've been using these headphones for about 2 years. Before that, I listened to current Chinese music for 300. But now I understand with the new xb900n that their sound quality is crap. Micro is very high quality. But as I noticed from the reviews, some complained about the sound. Apparently the sound really depends on the year of production. Balance shift
The bass here is really powerful and juicy, which will appeal to fans of dance music, hip-hop or metal. Moreover, thanks to the excellent sound insulation and volume reserve, low frequencies are clearly audible even in the subway. The bass had to make a small sacrifice in balance — behind the wall of low-frequency vibrations, the upper and middle frequencies are lost. They sound slightly muffled, they lack dynamics and details. Connoisseurs of jazz or rock will hardly appreciate such a character. At the same time, headphones are demanding on the quality of the sound source.
Robust housing and high-quality microphone
The headphone cases are slightly enlarged, elongated and narrowed downwards, which is why they periodically crawl out of the ears and even fall out during sudden movements. Therefore, the choice of ear pads is more important than ever. But otherwise, everything is in order — the cable looks reliable, with serious seals at the base of the plug, and the built-in microphone here is probably the best we've seen in models for $40.
The headphones are quite heavy. If I wear them for several hours, my ears start to get tired. The shape doesn't quite fit my ears, so I have to take breaks every half hour to rest. The headphones themselves weigh about 2-3 times more than the typical ones I used before. Previously, I had Sony MDR-EX155AP for 1000 rubles, really liked them, and I think after a while I'll get those again instead of these.
As for the sound, I can say that it's definitely better than my previous headphones, but I didn't experience any "Wow" effect.
