Plasma-cluster ionization of air
The Sharp UA-HD50E-L climatic apparatus is positioned by the manufacturer as an ionization air purifier with a humidification function. The main function of the device is based on plasma cluster technology, which, by saturating the air with positive and negative ions, destroys mold, viruses, bacteria and allergens in it, eliminates odours and static electricity, and also moisturizes the skin. The device is equipped with a powerful 3-stage filtration system, consisting of a pre-filter, a HEPA filter and a carbon filter, which provide comprehensive air purification in the room. The air outlet is carried out through special shutters, rotated at an angle of 20°, which ensures optimal flow circulation in the room. The air exchange capacity during air ionization ranges from 60 to 306 m3/h. The device also works in normal air humidification mode with a maximum productivity of 600 mL/h. The effective area of the room in air purification mode is 38 m2, and in air humidification mode it is 27 m2.
Automatic purifier mode with air quality control
The electronic control panel with touch buttons is located on the top platform of the case, and the display strip is in an unusual place, as is customary in cars — on the protruding edge of the facade. The panel has a power button combined with a choice of basic operating modes (cleaning, moisturizing, ionic shower), a button for adjusting the fan speed, starting the ionizer, and a button for setting the off timer. In addition, individual buttons can be used to lock the settings (protection from children), control the brightness of the indicator backlight, reset the filter cleaning indication and turn off the device. The device received 6 operating modes: 2 automatic (standard and extended), low (night), medium and maximum, as well as a mode for removing pollen and allergen particles. Automatic modes analyze data from dust, humidity and temperature sensors and select the optimal conditions for cleaning and humidifying the air. During operation, the device displays the current humidity, temperature and general air quality in the room.
1. During active humidification mode, the device makes a bubbling noise. Neither I nor my wife can fall asleep with this sound.
2. When the Ionization mode is on, the device makes an unpleasant sound, similar to crackling. And while we were willing to turn off this mode at night, there's no way to resolve the problem in the first point.
3. In modes above the quietest one, once or twice the humidifier made a very loud and unpleasant noise, which was not just from strong airflow, but an unbearable atypical noise, even during the day it was unbearable. I checked the water, switched modes, nothing helped. Only after several hours in quiet work mode did the humidifier stop making this noise in active modes.
4. There are many other non-critical drawbacks that could be described, but I see no point anymore - Sharp brand no longer exists for me. Interestingly, we also have a refrigerator, and it has been constantly noisy for 8 years.
