Seiko Watch Prospex Glacier Save the Ocean 1970 Re-Interpretation SPB301J1. Prospex Glacier Special Edition 'Save the Ocean' 1970 Re-interpretationThis specific design is inspired by Seiko's 1970 Diver's 150m watch - worn by Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura from 1974 to 1976 during his solo dog sled from Greenland to Alaska, a journey of 12,500km. Th... moreis 'Save the Ocean Special Edition,' inspired by the ice of the North Pole, expresses the accumulation of time - linking the Antarctic history of Seiko diver's watches with the time it takes for a glacier to form into its beautiful structure. The dial pattern and colour express the natural formations and pressure the glacier underwent during its long cooling period. Glaciers formed during the ice age, approximately 150 to 3 million years ago.Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ These timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable within extreme or everyday environments, for experts, sports lovers and adventure seekers alike. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative watchmaking has changed global dive watch standards.Seiko donates proceeds from Save The Ocean models to sea conservation organisations.

Seiko Seiko Prospex Glacier Special Edition 'Save the Ocean' 1970 Re-interpretation Automatic White Dial Steel Bra

Seiko Prospex Save The Ocean Glacier 1970 Re-Interpretation Automatic White Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Men’s Watch SPB301J1 The Case: The Seiko Prospex Glacier 1970 Re-Creation SPB301J1 features a 46.35mm stainless steel case that has been treated to a brushed finish and a super-hard coating. The most distinctive component of the case is t... morehe blue 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel that showcases a lume-pip at 12 o’clock and 60-minute scale. The case also features a recessed screw-down crown that is located at 4 o’clock, which prevents it from being knocked out of place and from digging into the wearer’s wrist. Double domed sapphire crystal glass offers both durability and legibility, as it has been finished with an anti-reflective coating.  The Dial:   The dial is presented in a textured off-white tone. The layout of the dial is simplistic, as it utilises thick silver-framed baton-style hour markers that are filled with Lumibrite material, ensuring that the dial can be read in areas of low light. The silver sword-style handset is located in the centre of the dial, the hour hand has been generously coated in a luminescent material. A date-display window replaces the 3 o’clock marker, whilst a 60-minute track is located on the chapter ring. The dial also displays the Seiko logo beneath the 12 o’clock marker and the Prospex logo above the 6 o’clock marker.  The Bracelet: The SPB301J1 is presented on an oyster-style 3-link stainless steel bracelet that has been treated to a brushed finish. It features a three-fold clasp with secure lock and a push button release with a diver extender.  The Functions: Seiko’s 6R35 calibre automatic movement powers this timepiece, it offers an accuracy of +15/-25 seconds per day and a power reserve of 70 hours when fully charged. It is water resistant to 200 metres, which means it can be worn when diving. If you have any questions please click here Click here to join our facebook and Instagram !
