The Extreme V30 A2 was the first memory card in the SanDisk lineup to effortlessly balance two worlds. It is one of the fastest MicroSD cards on the market, not only meeting the V30 video class specifications but surpassing them several times over.

According to its requirements, for 4K video recording, a memory card must have a minimum write speed of no less than 30 MB/s. The Extreme V30 A2 is three times that ― 90 MB/s. The reported read speed is 160 MB/s.

160 MB/s Turns into 90 MB/s

However, the company's website notes that these figures are only achieved with the «use of an appropriate card reader». In practice, we couldn't get more than 90 MB/s. Neither with an external card reader nor with the built-in one in the test laptop. A similar situation was with the SanDisk Extreme Pro V30 card, which only achieved the promised 170 MB/s with some mythical SanDisk card readers. Still, the available 90 MB/s is more than sufficient for heavy video recording.

Not Afraid of Extreme Conditions

Additionally, the SanDisk Extreme V30 is classified as A2, providing a high input/output operations per second (IOPS). This makes it an excellent option for expanding smartphone memory: the speed of operation with games and applications is the same as the phone's internal memory. Additionally, the card stands out for its enhanced reliability (shock resistance, waterproofing, radiation resistance, wide temperature range operation) and comes with proprietary software for data backup on Android devices and RescuePro for recovering lost files from the flash drive.
