A compact desktop NAS server with the integration of several profile operating systems, which provides high performance and wide capabilities for solving file management, backup and file sharing tasks. By default, TS-264 runs on the proprietary QTS OS, an alternative to which is a more secure QuTS hero OS firmware with support for ZFS and WORM technologies. The QNAP TS-264-8G disk subsystem provides for the installation of two 3.5-inch hard drives (maximum capacity up to 22 TB) with hot swapping and RAID configuration support.

Alternatively, there are 2 M.2 slots (2280 PCI-E Gen 3x1) for connecting SSD drives and a PCI-E slot for expansion cards or an optional Wi-Fi adapter. The server is powered by a 4-core Intel Celeron N5095 processor with a maximum clock frequency of 2.9 GHz and 8 GB of RAM. The connectivity options include a pair of LAN ports with a throughput of 2.5 Gbps, four USB ports of different classes, and one HDMI connector for direct connection to a monitor or TV.

The latter factor is especially useful when using the server as a multimedia storage. It can also be used as a mobile PC (using Virtualization Station) by connecting a keyboard and mouse to it. Additionally, the TS-264 offers support for Edge TPU with built-in AI tools that allow you to quickly process and classify thousands of photos, as well as analyze video in real time with the ability to recognize faces. Additionally, the NAS server is equipped with a One Touch Copy button for instant copying of data from connected USB devices.
