Panasonic DMC-LZ3

"Panasonic introduces a new model of LUMIX digital camera: 5.0 megapixel DMC-LZ3, powered by two AA batteries, equipped with optical image stabilizer MEGA OIS and a lens with 6x optical zoom (corresponding to 37-222mm in 35mm equivalent).

MEGA OIS is an image stabilization system that prevents operator hand shake from affecting image clarity and ensures high image quality. Panasonic was the first to integrate MEGA OIS into a compact digital camera. Today, this system is appreciated by users around the world and has practically become the standard for digital photography.

The LZ3 features a bright LCD screen enlarged to 2.0". In addition, the LZ3 has a single-point high-speed autofocus function and is equipped with an AF-assist illuminator. Another important feature is the expanded range of compositional shooting modes, including the High Sensitivity mode, which allows you to shoot photos at a maximum sensitivity of ISO 1600. This is made possible by a new method of mixed pixel reading by the CCD, which is applied even when recording video in VGA format. In addition, the new Extra Optical Zoom feature allows you to zoom up to 7.5x when shooting at a resolution of 3 MEGA.

The brains behind the LZ3 is the advanced Venus Engine Plus, which reduces power consumption for longer battery life while maintaining camera performance and excellent image quality.

The DMC-LZ3 is equipped with a superb 6x optical zoom that can capture and zoom in on distant subjects where 3x zoom is not enough for conventional compact cameras. This Super Zoom is supported by the MEGA OIS system, allowing anyone to achieve clean, sharp images, while the new High Sensitivity mode compensates for subject shift."
