Tracked Drive
The model is equipped with a tracked drive with differential unlocking. By squeezing the right trigger on the operator's panel, the drive to the right track is disengaged, causing the machine to turn right. A similar procedure with the left trigger is used for turning left. Overall, the tracked belt ensures the snow thrower's stability on slippery snow when conquering slopes and other uneven surfaces. The autonomy of the snow clearer is ensured by a powerful branded MTD Thorx 80 OHV gasoline engine.
8-Speed Transmission
The snow thrower's engine is started effortlessly in freezing temperatures by an electric starter powered from a 220 V network. Additionally, the model features an 8-speed transmission (6 speeds forward and 2 reverse). Low gears are useful for clearing loose snow, while high gears are suitable for packed snow. Another notable “feature” of the MTD ME 66T is its weight distribution system. The center of gravity of the 110-kilogram machine can be shifted away, towards, and centered using a special lever on the control panel.
Flexible Adjustments
The model implements a multi-stage cleaning system: first, the metal auger collects the snow, then it is crushed and fed to the impeller, and finally, the snow masses are ejected through the chute in the desired direction. The snow ejection is controlled by a joystick on the “driver’s” panel: forward-backward movements set the distance, while left-right turns set the throw angle within 200°. The snow thrower costs more than its peers, but finding an equal in terms of cleaning performance in rough terrain is quite a challenge.
