From the press release:

Microsoft continues to demonstrate devices that were not known before the start of CES 2010. This time it introduced the new Arc Keyboard, which was named after the Arc Mouse, not only the name, but also the fact that they have common features design.

The keyboard has a curved shape, but a fairly thin base and keys with little travel. The Arc Keyboard operates on the 2.4 GHz channel and the receiver, which must be inserted into the PC, can be hidden in the keyboard while it is being transported.

The battery indicator on the keyboard shows the remaining charge, and in the event of a near discharge, the user can save battery power by turning off the keyboard using the key combination (Fn + Esc). As you can see, even here Microsoft did not add additional controls to make the device as compact as possible.
