A winter tyre designed for maximum mobility and safety–not just when it’s new, but for seasons to come. Ultimate Snow & Ice Confidence Excellent Winter Traction Long Lasting Winter Tread Quiet & Comfortable Ride Great Fuel Efficiency Winter grip made to last. The Michelin® X-Ice® Snow tyre offers shorter ice and snow stopping distances thanks to... morethe exceptional grip provided by having two types of full-depth 3D sipes. This results in an increased claw effect on snow and ice, and long-lasting biting edges. Also featuring Flex-Ice 2.0 compound and MICHELIN® EverWinterGrip rubber inclusion technology for excellent ice braking, even after 3 winters. These inclusions will generate micro-roughness on the tyre surface for enhanced traction on snow and ice, giving extra grip in harsh conditions, winter after winter. Improved hydroplaning and slush performance for mobility made to last The MICHELIN® X-Ice® Snow tyre offers better hydroplaning performance than its predecessors. The new aggressive winter tread design with increased void ratio and V-shaped tread pattern provides increased resistance to hydroplaning and enhanced snow, slush, and wet evacuation. Model overview based on user reviews
The Michelin X-Ice Snow tires are generally well-regarded for their strong sidewall and comfort, providing a reliable and predictable driving experience. Users appreciate their quietness and stability, especially on icy roads, although some note that their performance on ice could be improved, as they sometimes struggle with grip during braking and acceleration. Despite this, the tires are praised for their overall reliability and are recommended by users who have extensive experience with winter tires. They are considered a good choice for those seeking a balance of comfort and durability, although some find them to be on the pricier side. Overall, they are a solid option for winter driving, especially for those prioritizing comfort and sidewall strength.
Pros

Cons

4 points out of 5. Everything is good except driving on ice. The word ICE in the title is redundant.

The word ICE in the title should be removed, it's unnecessary there.
Car Volkswagen Golf 7 2.0 TDI 6DSG.
Mileage on these tires is not less than 40000 km. I travel long distances, highway.
On slippery roads (thin ice or frost) braking and acceleration perform poorly. Rating 3 points out of 5. When braking on ice, ABS immediately engages, and the car slides forward. Even when gently applying gas, the light blinks, and there is slippage.
On both dry and wet snow, I rate it 4 out of 5 points - it's okay but nothing special. Somehow, many cars pass me at traffic lights, and when I add gas, traction disappears, and the wheels spin. It brakes fine in the snow, but not better than others.
I give 5 out of 5 points for the sturdy sidewall.
I give 5 out of 5 points for comfort.
I have extensive experience using both winter friction and studded tires.
Hakkapeliitta R2, Bridgestone VRX, ContiIceContact - so I'm very knowledgeable and know what I'm writing about.
Friction Hakkapeliitta ER2 and Bridgestone VRX were better on ice and frost.
ContiIceContact studded tires are just fantastic.
Overall, nothing special for such a price, and only thanks to the sturdy sidewall and comfort do I give an overall rating of 4 out of 5.
Purely winter performance is quite low - not what you expect after advertisements.
Strong sidewall
Comfort
Grip on ice and ice 3 points out of 5.

I recommend it. My wife is satisfied too.
7 February 2022
I got a second set for another car. Made in Russia. Brakes excellently. Stabilizes on ice and responds well to any skidding prompts. Doesn't quite match up to the studded Michelin North 3. 185/65r14 175/65r14 Both cars are without ABS.
Always confidence and predictability.
Quiet
Reliable
On an icy, snowy, bumpy ascent of about 45°, I almost made it with rear-wheel drive, but there wasn't enough space to gain speed. From my experience of approximately 900k km with Michelin, this tire is the cheapest, if you know how to calculate.

i recommend buying it

I've been driving these tires since 2011, I've changed 3 sets and I don't think about taking anything else in the future.
Quiet and soft, summer is noisy in comparison
dear, I took the last one for 13500 - this is October 2021
