Model overview based on user reviews
The Michelin X-Ice North tires offer excellent performance on ice and snow, thanks to their studded design, and maintain good grip on various surfaces, including slush and mud. However, they are noted to be noisy, especially on dry asphalt, and their braking performance can deteriorate on dry surfaces. While some users report no spike loss and minimal wear, others have experienced issues with acceleration and climbing hills, as well as poor seam quality, leading to spike loss after one winter. The tires are generally appreciated for their off-road capability, but the noise level remains a common concern. Overall, while some users are satisfied with their performance, others feel the quality does not justify the price, particularly if the tires are manufactured outside of France.
Pros
Cons
Did not notice any spike loss, and there's practically no wear either, maybe because I've been riding it for just over a month. In urban conditions, it performed quite well, although I try to drive more calmly, as I don't like extreme driving. The first thing worth mentioning is that it drives well on ice - which is not surprising, because it's studded, and it also performs well on snow, slush, and mud. Noisy, especially on dry asphalt, braking performance deteriorates on dry surfaces as well. ![]() |
I want to warn everyone against buying these tires. It’s hard to believe that Michelin could produce such poor quality. I was especially surprised by all the positive reviews on these tires online. I was surprised and surprised until I realized that they were praising the tires made in France, while mine had "Made in Russia" on the sidewall. Well, maybe that’s really the issue. I’ve driven on them for two years now, and I’ll try to at least get through one more season since I can’t really spend money on new tires right now. Just advising all of you to consider my experience when buying tires. Just horrible tires!!! I sincerely did not expect this from Michelin! Incredibly disappointed. There are simply no advantages. Only disadvantages. Firstly, the car doesn't accelerate at all on these tires! It simply can't manage to climb a hill!!! Secondly, the tires are too noisy. This is especially noticeable when you're driving on smooth asphalt at a low speed. The hum is so loud it even clogs your ears. Then, when the tires have been run in a bit, it gets a bit easier. But the noise never completely goes away. The tires also perform very poorly on snow, immediately starting to slip and losing grip. The seams are glued poorly – after just the first winter, I lost almost a third of them. And considering all the above-mentioned drawbacks, I find the price for these tires extremely overpriced. ![]() |
The rubber is excellent, don't listen to those who say it's bad, I bought it last year before winter. The car is front-wheel drive, it goes up solid ice slopes where people can't climb, and regarding snow, I have never gotten stuck despite driving to work every day and not missing a single snowfall. Take it, you won't regret it... Excellent off-road capability, maintains good grip on any surface. a bit noisier than desired use Michelin X-Ice North month or more i recommend it should buy |
