Features of this model:
Force feedback joystick
To increase the level of realism, the Flight System G940 joystick has been equipped with Logitech's award-winning feedback system, which allows you to confidently control an airplane or helicopter, feeling how it reacts to air, turbulence and gravity. Unlike vibration feedback and other similar technologies, the force feedback used here is characterized by exceptional accuracy and tactility; the pilot gets a complete picture of the forces acting in the game.
The Flight System G940 joystick features a two-stage metal trigger, six programmable buttons, a mini joystick, an 8-way HAT switch, and three analogue balance controls; it is designed to give the pilot complete control over the aircraft. To make a long flight comfortable, the joystick is complemented by a wide massive base, a soft cover and an arm rest; the joystick handle is slightly tilted forward.
Programmable twin engine control handle
For realistic control, the Flight System G940 controller has been equipped with a dual engine control stick, making it easier to fly aircraft equipped with multiple engines. If there is only one engine, a special button allows you to synchronize the levers, making them more convenient to use.
Interactive programmable keys support the most popular simulators and illuminate in red, green or yellow (or turn off) to signal the status of critical systems — just like in a real cockpit. For added convenience, Logitech comes with 80 insert overlay options to create a realistic switch panel, such as GPS, autopilot, and landing gear controls.
In addition to eight programmable keys, the Flight System G940 also features two eight-way HAT switches, four programmable joystick buttons, and two analogue rotary controls. The included Logitech Gaming Software allows you to customize your G940 to almost any function in just a few steps.
Real pedals
The four-link pedals, modeled on modern fighter jets, are implemented in an open design with rudder controls and foot brakes. All this makes the control as realistic as possible, especially when performing protective manoeuvres, landing into the wind or when flying a helicopter. The ability to adjust the resistance of the pedals allows you to adjust them to a specific style of piloting. For added comfort, the base of the pedals is equipped with locking pads and a foot rest, which allows the pedals to be held in place even during the most difficult manoeuvres.
From the press release:
Logitech has unveiled the Logitech Flight System G940 flight simulator controller, the latest addition to the Logitech G-series of gaming peripherals.
This is the company's first controller designed for flight simulators and equipped with a force feedback system. The design and construction of the control mechanism on the Flight System G940 is similar to those used in military and civil aviation.
For total immersion in the action, the three-piece Logitech Flight System G940 includes a force-feedback joystick, dual motor control levers, and steering pedals. More than 250 programmable button settings integrated into the full-featured HOTAS (Hands On Throttle-and-Stick) design; the pilot will be able to access the critical systems of the aircraft without being distracted from control.
All components are equipped with reinforced fasteners that make it easier to fix them on the surface. Flight System G940 supports most popular flight simulators for PC, including Microsoft Flight Simulator X, IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 and Lock On: Modern Air Combat X-Plane 9.
