Cable connection will allow using this model with any personal computers. There are modes to help the user maintain contact with the environment. Ease of use: if the battery is resolved, you immediately connect the wire and continue listening to music. A good battery with fast charging lasts a week with active use. Good sound for this price segment No use JBL Live 400BT few months |
Sound, quality, compactness Look in the comment use JBL Live 400BT less than month |
I really liked the sound: they don't have excessive bass or sizzle, a kind of balanced sound, which is quite uncharacteristic for JBL compared to those I've listened to before this model in the store. This is probably one of the reasons why I bought them, aside from the other features like battery life or the "ambient sound" mode. Stylish fabric headband, you won't find it everywhere, and it doesn't press on your head as sometimes happens with cheap headphones. I liked the ambient sound mode, which lets you hear the surrounding noise when needed. Sometimes this is a useful feature, especially when you need to pay for the fare in the transporter. The battery is quite durable and in my home-work-home scenario, I only need to charge them once a week. If the battery runs low, you can use them with a regular 3.5 mm cable, but that's not much help when your phone no longer has that jack. the micro USB port for charging is already outdated in 2019, they really could have put a type C instead, as I have been charging my phone with such a connector for a long time now. I still don't understand why they assigned Google Assistant activation to the touchpad on the left ear cup, it's nonsense; it would have been better to have a pause/play function or ambient noise inclusion feature there. The absence of a carrying case in the kit is stingy, it doesn't even cost a dollar in China. ![]() |
Cons
1) Micro USB in 2020 is so-so, they could have used Type-C.
2) Bluetooth 4.2 connection; for 4k rubles, you'd expect 5.0.
3) Only SBC codecs are used, and yes, there's no APTX or even AAC, which is quite disappointing, but again, not critical.
Pros
1) Sound. It's detailed and balanced, with no particular emphasis on any frequencies. Personally, after Jbl (some in-ear ones) with Pure Bass technology, I feel a slight lack of bass, but this is fixed with an equalizer.
2) Build quality. There's no creaking or looseness, high-quality plastic, with metal inside the headband for strength, overall they inspire confidence.
3) Comfort. Compact, with TalkThru mode which I use very often. They have excellent passive noise cancellation, of course, they aren't in-ear but still very good. After 1.5 hours, ears start to feel tired, but not much, and a simple, short ear massage fixes this.
4) The ability to connect them via wire. When I play, I always use the wire because without it there's a delay in games, which is a huge plus for gamers.
5) Battery life. Two days of active use and there's still 80% charge left, they last a very long time.
6) Microphones. The mic on the wire and on the cups is not bad; my conversation partner could hear me normally, and via wire, it was really good.
