Model overview based on user reviews
The Janome HD 1800 is an electromechanical sewing machine that is ideal for beginners due to its simple and clear operation. It features a horizontal rotary shuttle and offers 17 stitches, including knitted stitches, with automatic loop formation. Users appreciate its flat stitching and the ability to sew slowly, which is beneficial for those new to sewing. The machine comes with 7 presser feet, though some users may need to purchase additional feet, such as for a hidden zipper. It handles various threads and denim well, and the LED lighting of the working area is a notable advantage. While the machine is not entirely silent, making it less suitable for night use, it is considered ergonomic and efficient for studio use. However, the instructions are limited, requiring some self-learning. Overall, the Janome HD 1800 is a reliable choice for quality sewing without unnecessary features.
Pros
Cons
Easy with this machine, this is my first purchase, everything works out. The line is flat. Simple and clear. There are knitted stitches in it, speed adjustment, it makes loops evenly, I train a lot so far, you can sew slowly, if you are still completely beginner in sewing. There are not all paws in the set, there are only 7 of them. I had to buy a foot for a hidden zipper. I use different threads and denim 20 number. This machine has good LED lighting of the working area. I didn't have to fiddle with the bulb. I have it recently, but I sew every day for 5 hours. While everything is fine, I periodically lubricate the necessary parts with special oil that you can buy. The model is ergonomic, there are convenient pockets. In general, it sews all the quality without adjustments. You can safely buy for the studio. Nothing extra. 85W is enough. Not quite silent, you can’t sew at night. Few instructions, I had to figure out a lot myself. I haven’t sewn a very thick fabric yet, I can’t say for sure whether it will slow down. |
