The flagship tablet of Huawei in 2020 aims to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S and iPad Pro lineups. It features a 10.8-inch IPS display with small bezels around it and a small hole in the corner for the 8-megapixel front camera. The main camera contains a single 13-megapixel module and delivers quite decent photos, especially in good lighting. The Huawei MatePad Pro is powered by the Kirin 990 chip, also found in Huawei P40 smartphones, ensuring high performance.
However, like most of Huawei's recent products, there are no Google services; instead, the company offers Huawei Mobile Services and its own AppGallery store. The 7250 mAh battery provides up to 12 hours of offline video playback and supports fast charging at 20W (or 40W, but at an extra cost), wireless charging at 15W, and reverse wireless charging up to 7.5W. Additional accessories, such as the M-Pencil stylus and a keyboard case, can help use the tablet as a mini-laptop, but they are not included in the package and are sold separately.

My colleagues at work gave me this tablet as a gift. It was really nice to receive such a present. Initially, I hardly used it, but then I decided to use it for work. It works quickly, and everything runs smoothly. This is especially nice. I also like that the battery holds up well. I recently went on a business trip and took it with me. holds the charge well. ----- |
I recommend getting a case-keyboard for it - it's a very convenient and extremely useful accessory. It's handy not only for its main purpose; when magnetized in its working position, it serves as a convenient handle for holding it aloft with one hand. However, I didn't really take to the stylus; typing on the keyboard turned out to be faster than writing with the stylus. Additionally, it can only recognize handwritten text if written in a special app, so the stylus ends up being useless. The 10.8-inch screen size is just right. Any larger turns it into an undersized laptop, causing mobility issues; you can't hold it in one hand outdoors. Any smaller would make it an oversized smartphone, leading to functionality issues. Beautiful, feels nice to hold. Everything is made with quality, from the tablet itself to the box. I have no complaints about the speed either (although I don't play games, so my experience might not be entirely representative). For work, I have to read large PDF tomes - it's pleasant to read, no lag. It's also not embarrassing to show something visually during negotiations. I often use it outside - the brightness is always sufficient. Raindrops on both the screen and the keyboard can be easily wiped off with a sleeve (of course, we're talking about occasional drops; you definitely shouldn't drench it). Initially (mid-2020), the app store was somewhat empty, with some apps missing. Now there are no issues, except that YouTube has to be watched in a browser. But on the other hand, that's a plus – all ads in the browser are blocked by AdGuard, and whether it will block them in the app is questionable. Another downside is that many apps (particularly banking ones) do not support tablet screen orientation, making the keyboard not always convenient to use. However, I think this will be a common problem for all tablets. ![]() |
It turned out that completely mundane things made using this wonder inconvenient:
1. Unlocking, how inconvenient it is to use facial recognition or a password after the scanner. For the price, they could have made a scanner in the power button and made users happy.
2. No Google services and couldn’t install them. My hopes from AppGallery were not justified. At all.
3. The sound is praised in every review, but I am disappointed. It’s the same as in the 2017 iPad, but judging by the reviews, it should be a level better. Not exactly a minus, but a disappointment of high expectations.
4. The battery didn’t impress. Worse than the old iPad.
5. Sad about accessories. Bought a case twice as expensive as for the apple device, but of lower quality, as if it’s for 500 rubles.
Overall, I regret a little not looking towards Samsung. I’m very not loyal to the "Koreans."
It turned out to be a "suitcase without a handle." Pleasant when running, but the joy of use and functionality didn’t justify themselves.
As a result, just a feeling of an overpriced device.
