The new 55 diagonal from Hisense is not bad for its money
23 December 2023
Bought the Hisense 55A7KQ TV (one of the reasons for choosing this model was the curved stand of 74.5cm, as wall mounting was not intended). I wanted to see it in person, but couldn't find it in tech markets. I found reviews on YouTube only in English or Indian. Therefore, I bought it at my own risk from an online store. After receiving it, I experimented with the picture settings for a long time until I achieved an image and color balance that suits me. The TV displays beautifully, white and black colors are almost perfect, and brightness is sufficient even on a sunny day. The VA matrix means you need to watch the TV straight on, as colors "shift" at angles. The VIDAA operating system works quickly, but is mainly tailored for paid services (with quick access buttons on the remote), you can install third-party apps (if you know what you're doing). I bought the TV on "Black Friday" with a good discount, so I'm almost satisfied with the purchase.
A TV box will arrive soon, so I'll be trying it out with that too.
The functionality is adjusted, images in 4K, good sound, the ability to be placed on a narrow stand.
I have noticed so far:- while playing HDR video, there's a slight barely noticeable blur around moving objects (I haven't yet adjusted the "smoothing" settings);
- on a completely gray screen, the backlight is slightly brighter around the edges;
- the connectors are located not far from the edge and if the cable is "stiff", it might stick out from the edge of the TV.
