If you need a slicer, then it is in front of you
22 September 2022
I bought a slicer because I engage in home curing and smoking. I saw it as a lifesaver, for example, for slicing meat for jerky or cutting cured meat. It handles these tasks remarkably well.

But let's delve into a bit of backstory. Before this, I briefly owned a cheap slicer with a German name, which I bought on Aukro (who still remembers that?). But this slicer didn't last long in my possession; my wife managed to break something that shouldn't have broken. I bought it second-hand, so I can't say what condition the blade was in. But I recall the negative aspect: it struggled with slicing hard meat (like ham, etc.). It could slice everything else, but since it was plastic, it couldn't cut thin slices (like thin enough to see through). And since I could slice with it, I could also use a knife. The whole point of this slicer was just for quick table preparations before guests arrived. But I didn't pay much for this device. After it broke, my enthusiasm waned, and I cut everything by hand. Then the thought of buying such a gadget reappeared. This time, I approached the question more seriously. I only considered non-foldable models and immediately looked at what kinds of blades were available. And here I discover a brand unfamiliar to me, Graef. Blades were available for sale, and the price was far from cheap, especially compared to professional slicer models. Additionally, it's German, and previously I bought a vacuum sealer from an unknown German manufacturer, which I have been very pleased with.

However, since there's a war in the country and the currency rate is very unstable, the prices are quite steep. But I managed to make the purchase, and I paid 4099 for this gadget.
